Answer to My Prayer
Blue Magic Lyrics
Love is the answer to my prayer
Don't you ever leave me
I swear that you are the answer to my prayer
I prayed for a lot of thing's to come my way
You came and you brightened up my
Darkest days
You are the one that I've been waiting for
I cross my heart my love for you is pure
Cause love is the answer to my prayer
Don't you ever leave me
I was such a lonely guy always alone
The blues were my only friend but now they're gone
I never knew that love could be so grand
You changed my life now I'm a happy man
Cause love is the answer to my prayer
Don't you ever leave me
I swear that you are the answer to my prayer
Love is the answer to my prayer
Don't you ever leave me
I swear that you are the answer to my prayer
Don't you ever leave me
I swear that love is the answer to my prayer
I swear that you are the answer to my prayer
Don't ever leave me

There are two different artists who go by the name of Blue Magic:
1. Blue Magic, an R&B vocal quintet whose members were Theodore Mills, Vernon Sawyer, Wendell Sawyer, Keith Beaton, and Richard Pratt, was formed in Philadelphia and signed to Atlantic Records in 1973. They hit the Top 40 of the R&B singles chart with their first three 45s before breaking through and crossing over with "Sideshow," released in April 1974, which went gold, topped the R&B charts, and became a Top Ten pop hit. "Three Ring Circus," their next single, made the R&B Top Ten and the pop Top 40. Blue Magic had two more R&B chart singles in 1975 and four in 1976 before suffering a career slump, but they still managed to influence many artists, such as The Mighty Majors ('You can Never go Back'), which opened a show for them once. Still, they returned with R&B chart singles in 1981 and 1983 and made a comeback album, From Out of the Blue, in 1989.
2. Blue Magic is a remixer for OC ReMix and VGMix.

I'm sorry but in my opinion.......BlueMajic was probably one of the best ..yet underrated groups of the 1970s. Out of all the popular groups in the early 70's such as The Stylistics, The Spinners, Delfonics and The Moments, to name a few....Blue Magic wins in my opinion. Their music was sooo rich in sound, quality and meaning. I'm only 32 and one of my favorite songs from Blue Magic is 'Never Gonna Get Over You' and this song 'Answer to My Prayer' is my second best. Although I wasn't around during their days...I'm grateful for YouTube.

I never thought of them as "underrated." Rather, they were not distributed in a way that the mainstream (White) audiences got to hear them. Their base was mainly young Black America. Musically, I don't anyone who knew that Blue Magic existed that didn't find them at the top of their game. They could hold their own against the Stylistics, Delfonics. But in those day, White America could only pay attention to one Black group at a time. The O'Jays were big in the early 70s (mainstream-wise), then the Stylistics. The Delfonics were big in the late 60s. But in BLACK America, ALL of these groups were "known." And appreciated. Deeply.
