What's Come Over Me
Blue Magic Lyrics
What's wrong with my mind
What's come over me
I thought I saw your face
Wearing a smile, dimple on the side
What's come over me
(What's come over me)
What's come over me
(What's come over me)
They're deceiving me
I thought I heard you speak
Calling my name, I must be insane, I just can't explain
What's come over me
(What's come over me)
What's come over me
(What's come over me)
Don't tell me I've stumbled upon you
Or is my mind in a daze
For this can't be as real as I want it
For you let me go, then went way
Some kind of feelin'
(What's come over me)
Just look at me now, seems like I'm floating on a cloud
Oh, what could this be
What's come over me
(What's come over me, over me, come over me)
What's come over me
(Over me)
Over and over, baby
(What's come over me)
What's come over me
What's come over me
(Over me, come over me, over me)
(Ah ah)
You see, I must have gone through some changes when I kissed your picture
And hey, my mind just keeps on wondering when you only left me yesterday
I've never been to heaven, instead I spent the night with you
Maybe that's the reason I don't know what to do
What's come over me
What's come over me
(Over me, come over me, over me)
What's come over me
Over and over, baby
(What's come over me, over me, over me)
And I can't break free
What's come over me
Over and over and over and I just can't sleep
(What's come over me, over me, came over me, over me)
Tell me, tell me what's come over and over, baby
(What's come over me, over me, over me)

"Three Ring Circus," their next single, made the R&B Top Ten and the pop Top 40. Blue Magic had two more R&B chart singles in 1975 and four in 1976 before suffering a career slump, but they still managed to influence many artists, such as The Mighty Majors ('You can Never go Back'), which opened a show for them once. Still, they returned with R&B chart singles in 1981 and 1983 and made a comeback album, From Out of the Blue, in 1989.

I was supposed to get a lot of stuff done at home, today, but I got hooked listening to the music of my youth, lol. Chi-Lites, Delfonics, Stylistics, Spinners, Blue Magic, early EW&F...60s and 70s Soul...the music brought different races together...we were so full of hope, admiration and wanting to understand and get to know each other. That outlook early on helped me make long-lasting friends of all backgrounds. And I guess the music of our teens stay in a certain compartment in our hearts and minds. I'm so glad I grew up during this time...No one but those of us in our age group will really understand.

@Timothy Polk Our parents' music definitely influenced me, too. Elvis, Sinatra, pop standards to rock and roll. But by the time I was a teenager and could pick my own music, '70s Soul was my go-to and became my favorite of any era.
