S.O.S.
Bluejuice Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I've got this itchy feeling
I don't know what to do with myself
With myself are you really well-meaning?
Are you concealing something
Else? Nothing else?

Because you do it, you do it, you do alright
But where will you find yourself at
The end of the night?
Because you do it, you do it, you do it
You do okay (Oh oh oh)
Sooner or later, you're gonna find
Yourself in a mayday, mayday
Woah oh oh

SOS, send some help
Nobody saves you from yourself
SOS, rescue me
I'm not the man I want to be, woah oh oh

I got a lot of people telling me it's easy
I got a lot of people
Telling me I'm alright, i'm alright
I'm alright, I'm alright
But I'm not alright
You hear a lot of people talk, talk, talking
They're gonna talk that way forever
But it's alright
It's alright, it's alright, it's alright
Hey

Because you do it, you do it, you do it
You do alright
But where will you find yourself at
The end of the night?
Because you do it, you do it, you do it
You do okay (Oh oh oh)
Sooner or later, you're gonna find
Yourself in a mayday, mayday
Woah oh oh

SOS, send some help
Nobody saves you from yourself
SOS, rescue me
I'm not the man I want to be, woah oh oh
SOS, send some help
Nobody saves you from yourself
SOS, rescue me
I'm not the man I want to be, woah oh oh
SOS, send some help
Nobody saves you from yourself
SOS, rescue me
I'm not the man I want to be, woah oh oh
SOS, send some help
Nobody saves you from yourself

SOS, rescue me
I'm not the man I want to be, woah oh oh

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "S.O.S." by Bluejuice convey a sense of inner turmoil and frustration. The singer is grappling with an uncertain and restless feeling, unsure of how to handle themselves. The opening line, "I've got this itchy feeling," symbolizes a discomfort or unease that they can't shake off. They question whether those around them are genuinely well-intentioned or hiding something from them.

The chorus, "SOS, send some help, nobody saves you from yourself," reflects a plea for assistance or guidance, but ultimately acknowledging that no one else can rescue them from their own problems. The repetition of "SOS" emphasizes a cry for help, like a distress signal, but also suggests that the singer is trapped in their own internal struggles.

The lyrics also touch on the pressure from external sources. The singer mentions the people telling them that everything is easy and that they are alright, but counters that by admitting they are not truly okay. They highlight the endless chatter of others, but reassure themselves that it's alright. This may reflect a sense of trying to maintain a front or put on a brave face to appease others while deep down feeling the weight of their own issues.

Overall, "S.O.S." explores the themes of inner conflict, self-sufficiency, and the struggle to reconcile one's true self with societal expectations. It captures the yearning for help and acknowledgement while recognizing that ultimately, one must find their own way to becoming the person they want to be.

What I probably love most about Bluejuice songs is how the lyrics speak to something much more deeper than the catchy tune would expect. 'Nobody saves you from yourself' is genius, really compliments the video too. Oh yes, and you boys are bloody hilarious. The old lady got what she deserved. See you Friday :)

Wicked. I had several belly laughs watching this clip. Great song too. A nod to Northern soul. As good as Vitriol.

You'll have to request it a few more times and get your friends to buy tickets if you want an album. Otherwise we'll just be doing singles.
