What′s for Breakfast
Blues Traveler Lyrics

Well here I am
In a roadside stew
You're checking to see if I'm alright
I'm looking up at you
Well I'm o.k.
I've been here before
You know I have an ass to land on
And that's what it's for

I'm gonna dust me off
Get on my feet
Get myself together
Get me good to eat
Well what a night
I don't remember much
Not to worry my friend
I'm better off as such

You gotta wake up and smell
The collective coffee,
If ya know what I'm sayin'
Oh, gimme guitar, gimme guitar!

Well what a day and what's for breakfast?
Have to see what comes along
What a day and what's for breakfast?
Nothing ventured nothing wrong

Well there's no need
Get me through the roof
You know I'm just about to done
Picking up that [?]
I'm looking around
And the day's begun
I've got twenty four hours to get this game won

Well, looking around one time
Gonna find me something
Get me good to rhyme
I can feel it inside gonna never back down
I haven't found
I'm taking my look around

Well what a day and what's for breakfast?
Have to see what comes along
What a day and what's for breakfast?
Nothing ventured nothing wrong

Well what a day and what's for breakfast?
Have to see what comes along
What a day and what's for breakfast?
Nothing ventured nothing wrong, nothing wrong

I need to eat more sausages and that is a fact. I remember stumbling across an unofficial live cd by this band, dating from 1990, and this song was on it, before release, and the whole live sound was much more "punchy" (bass/kick drum up front; distortion on the guitar; faster) which explains why Popper has said that the band's first two albums were a bit too clinical/clean sounding to his then 22 year old ears' taste. Not that it matters. I prefer them as they are. I don't know what happened to that live cd either. Now...all that matters is: where's my sausages?

@zntg

the best band in the fucking world!!

@scottstrickland599

no its not the best band in the world but it is a good band, if he hadnt let the drugs and alcohol get the best of him he would most likely be around

@weebsportsresort682

@scott strickland I know that people only visit this comment in four year intervals, but John Popper is still alive.

@versatilejams

@scott strickland Bob Sheehan died, the bassist. Popper is still kicking ass with the other two OG members and “new” band members (who have now comprised the band for over two decades.)
