All Your Love
Bluesbreakers Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

All the love I miss loving, all the kiss I miss kissing.
All the love I miss loving, all the kiss I miss kissing.
Before I met you baby, never knew what I was missing.

All your love, pretty baby, that I got in store for you.
All your love, pretty baby, that I got in store for you.
I love you pretty baby, well I say you love me too.
All your loving, pretty baby, all your loving, pretty baby.
All your loving, pretty baby, all your loving, pretty baby.
Since I first met you baby, I never knew what I was missing.

Hey, hey baby, hey, hey baby.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, baby, oh, oh, baby.
Since I first met you baby, never knew what I was missing.

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Bluesbreakers' "All Your Love" are a passionate declaration of the love and affection that the singer feels for their partner. The opening lines express a deep longing for intimacy and physical contact, lamenting all of the missed opportunities for love and kisses before they met their lover. It's the kind of love that has transformed their life, and they can't imagine going back to a time before they knew this sort of bliss.

As the song progresses, the singer's love comes front and center, expressed through a repeated chorus of "all your love, pretty baby." The tone is confident, even flirtatious, as though the singer is reassuring their partner of their devotion and affection. The repeated refrain of "since I first met you baby, I never knew what I was missing" underscores the transformative nature of this relationship, suggesting that it has elevated the singer's sense of what is possible when it comes to love.

Overall, "All Your Love" is a straightforward love song that captures the intense emotions that come with an all-consuming romance. The lyrics communicate both vulnerability and strength, expressing the depth of the singer's love while also affirming their own value and worth as a partner. I had the great pleasure of seeing John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers around 1988 at Wolftrap Farm Park. I was in the third row, center. Coco was on guitar. Mayall always surrounded himself with such great musicians. They were so hot that the fire alarm went off on their last song, the sprinklers started spraying the whole theatre. They played thru the end of their last song. After a long intermission to get they fire alarm system reset and dry the seats, John Lee Hooker's band took the stage and proceeded to also blow away the audience. Wow what a night !

I saw him in 91 at a local music festival. I had backstage passes for the show and he stopped and talked for a bit before the show... just like he was a roadie or something.... as down to earth as he could be and he had a great smile. :)
