In 2012 Bo was invited to audition for the BBC talent show The Voice UK. In her blind audition Bo sang the David Guetta and Usher hit "Without You". Coaches will.i.am and Danny O'Donoghue turned round in a bid to add Bo to their teams. Bo opted to join Team Danny as she felt that she and Danny had the most in common.
In her first live show on 5 May 2012, Bo sang "Running Up That Hill" by Kate Bush. Bo received praise from all four coaches and was voted through to the next round of the competition with the viewers' vote. Bruce received the praise of the songwriter Kate Bush, who posted a message to Bo on Twitter, Facebook and katebush.com. In the statement Bush congratulated Bruce on her "fantastic performance". Bush also stated that she thought Bruce's performance was "really beautiful and moving" and also said that she "felt so proud of Bo".
Eventually making it to the final of the show on 2 June 2012, Bo sang three songs. The first was "Nothing Compares 2 U". After that she sang with her mentor Danny before Vince Kidd was announced as the act in fourth place. Bo went on to sing her favorite song of the series, "Charlie Brown" by Coldplay. Bo was announced as a runner up alongside Tyler James to winner Leanne Mitchell.
Her debut album, Before I Sleep, was released on 29th April 2013.
The Fall
Bo Bruce Lyrics

My love is out to sea
It sinks among the fishes
It floats away from me
And I don't even cry
No, I don't even cry
Cause I'm forgetting
You warned me of the coming of the fall,
You warned me of the ending of it all.
I will come home to, to broken backs,
If you call, if you call.
My love is in the stillness,
My love is in the void.
It fades into the blackout and
It shrinks beneath the noise
And I don't even try
No, I don't even try
Cause I remember
How that you and I survived
You warned me of the coming of the fall,
You warned me of the ending of it all.
(I will come home) You warned me, you warned me
(I will come home) You warned me, you warned me
You warned me of the coming of the fall,
You warned me of the ending of it all.
I will come home to, to broken backs,
If you call, if you call
If you call, if you call
If you call, if you call
I will come home
I will come home
I will come home
I will come home
I will come home to, to broken backs
If you call, if you call
The opening lines of Bo Bruce's song The Fall evoke a sense of loss as her love sinks away from her, both literally and figuratively. Her love is in the water and has gone out to sea - a metaphor for something that is out of reach and seemingly lost forever. The haunting melody and her emotive delivery add to the sense of melancholy as she reflects on the ways in which her love has been fading away. The chorus sees her remembering how she and her love survived amidst the tumultuous times they went through, yet she doesn't cry anymore - a sign that perhaps she has accepted the situation and moved on.
The second verse sees Bo Bruce singing about how her love is now in the stillness, void, and chaos of a world that has lost its meaning. The line "It fades into the blackout and It shrinks beneath the noise" suggests that her love is getting lost amidst all the distractions and noise of modern life. However, she doesn't try to hold onto it anymore, perhaps because she knows that it's futile. Her love has become a memory, something she can't touch but only feel within her.
The chorus then repeats itself, emphasizing the warning that her love gave her about the impending fall and how things would come to an end. She knows that she will come home to a shattered reality, to broken backs - but she is willing to do so if only her love calls out to her. The song is a beautiful tribute to lost love and the powers of memory and acceptance in moving on.

Bo is so beautiful. She looks like a Greek goddess in every one of her performances/videos. Her voice is gorgeous; that falsetto. Just beautiful. And she has such an innocent look about her. And her lyrics. My. Goodness. So much meaning in such a small amount of words. Just beautiful.
