Look Who's Talking
Boa Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Champagne, caviar
Hot boys at the bar
Looking at me, yeah
They're looking at me

I was true to you
Just from my point of view
Now you're looking at me
Yeah, you're looking at me

They wanna give it to me
They wanna give it to me
I won't go for that
'Cause boy I had your back

This song is all about me
Damn right, it's all about me, yeah
(La la la la la la)
(La la la la la la)

Hey, hey, hey
So look who's talking now
That's what this song's about, me
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

Hey, hey, hey
Think you got me figured out
Well, look who's talking now, it's me
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

Fast cars and bubble baths
High heels stepping on the gas
Looking at me
Yeah, they're looking at me

Dreamsicles melt away
I'm thinking every day
Looking at me
You're still looking at me

I wanna give it to you
I wanna give it to you
But I can't go for that
'Cause boy it's in the past

This song is all about me
Damn right, it's all about me
(La la la la la la)
(La la la la la la)

Hey, hey, hey
So look who's talking now
That's what this song's about, me
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

Hey, hey, hey
Think you got me figured out
Well, look who's talking now, it's me
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

Controversy is like
A ticking time bomb
Controversy, it's what they want
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

Good news for me, it's about
What I spend my time on
Controversy is all they want
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

Hey, hey, hey
So look who's talking now
That's what this song's about, me
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

Hey, hey, hey
Think you got me figured out
Well, look who's talking now, it's me
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

Hey, hey, hey
So look who's talking now
That's what this song's about, me
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

Hey, hey, hey
Think you got me figured out

Well, look who's talking now, it's me
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Boa's song Look Who's Talking discuss the singer's experiences with being in the spotlight and the attention that she receives from others. The first verse mentions "champagne, caviar" and "hot boys at the bar" who are all looking at her. Boa acknowledges that they are, indeed, looking at her and that she was true to someone from her point of view. Despite this attention, although it may be tempting, Boa refuses to give in to their offers, saying "I won't go for that / 'Cause boy, I had your back."

The chorus repeats the phrase "So look who's talking now / That's what this song's about, me" with an upbeat melody. Boa asserts that the song is all about her and how she feels about the attention that she receives. The second verse mentions "fast cars and bubble baths" as well as "dreamsicles melt[ing] away" while still acknowledging that others are still looking at her.

The bridge addresses the controversy that often comes with being in the public eye. Boa sings that "Controversy is like / A ticking time bomb" but for her, "Good news for me, it's about / What I spend my time on."

Overall, Look Who's Talking is a song about Boa's experiences with the attention she receives in the public eye, and her refusal to give in to temptation despite the attention.

Britney wrote this song in response to Cry me a river by Justin in 2003 for her album In the Zone.

@dashspears2241

Probably they kept the backing vocals of Britney, that’s why it sounds so similar to Britney’s version.

@Chris-tn9bf

britney's vocals aren't in this version at all, this only has michelle bell and boa in it afaik

@upindown9869

I’m surprised at how similar this is to Britney’s version. I wonder if they kept her on the chorus, that’s not uncommon for songwriters vocals to be left on the track. I love it tho, I imagine Brit’s version would’ve sounded similar if the production was finished, but I like this end result! boA sounds really good!!

@cosmosisrose

why were people pitting BoA and Britney against each other lmao they don’t have beef it’s completely normal for a song to be given/sold to a different artist

@ewerthoncl1151

Eu adoro essa música na voz da britney nem sabia que era da BoA

@KaikeOliveiraFabulous

A Britney quem compôs, e deu pra BoA

@yocelind.c8957

Why this doesn't sound so different from the britney version? ... I mean, the voices sounds very similar

@kingtaeyeonie7908

I think their voices generally sound similar

@soaribb32

Just like Toxic has the vocals of Cathy Dennis who wrote it.
