Dont't think twice it's all right
Bob Dylan/To Cry/ll Night) Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Well it ain't no use to sit and wonder why, babe
Ifin' you don't know by now
An' it ain't no use to sit and wonder why, babe
It'll never do some how
When your rooster crows at the break a dawn
Look out your window and I'll be gone
You're the reason I'm trav'lin' on
Don't think twice, it's all right

And it ain't no use in a-turnin' on your light, babe
The light I never knowed
An' it ain't no use in turnin' on your light, babe
I'm on the dark side of the road
But I wish there was somethin' you would do or say
To try and make me change my mind and stay
We never did too much talkin' anyway
But don't think twice, it's all right

No it ain't no use in callin' out my name, gal
Like you never done before
And it ain't no use in callin' out my name, gal
I can't hear ya any more
I'm a-thinkin' and a-wond'rin' wallkin' way down the road
I once loved a woman, a child I am told
I give her my heart but she wanted my soul
But don't think twice, it's all right

So long honey babe
Where I'm bound, I can't tell
Goodbye is too good a word, babe
So I just say fare thee well
I ain't sayin' you treated me unkind
You could have done better but I don't mind

You just kinda wasted my precious time
But don't think twice, it's all right

Overall Meaning

Bob Dylan’s “Don't Think Twice, It's All Right” is a song that centers on the theme of moving on from a relationship that has gone sour. Dylan sends a message to his lover that he's been forced to pack his bags and leave. The lyrics communicate that the relationship was not entirely fulfilling and that the singer feels it's time to move on. Dylan delivers the theme of the song through the first two verses, in which he communicates that his former lover missed her chance, and he's not hanging around to wait for her to undo her mistakes. Dylan’s narrator chooses to leave instead of being caught up in a perpetual cycle of disappointment and heartache. There's a feeling of detachment in the lyrics as he keeps his emotions in check and doesn’t overindulge his feelings.

This song is about the end of a relationship and the recognition that it’s time to depart. The singer is letting go, accepting that there's nothing left to be salvaged from the relationship. He resists calling out to him, knowing that it's time to say goodbye. In a sense, the lyrics are a farewell to the romance and to the singer himself. He has made a decision and knows that he cannot stay. The song takes the form of a letter, written by someone who realizes they have to leave a partner who has been less than ideal for them, but who still cares for them. The song's title is ultimately a message: there is no point in dwelling on the past, and sometimes it's best to just move on.

Lyrics

We're already past temptation
We've already crossed that line
And, baby, when you saw me naked
I've never felt more alive

Love's a risky bid
Play me like roulette
Don't think with your head
Yeah
I don't ask for much
Just all of your love

Baby, don't think twice, nah, nah
One second can change your life, nah, nah
Trust the way ya feel tonight, nah, nah
Heaven is a shot in the dark
So shoot with your heart
And don't think twice, nah, nah
One second can change your life, nah, nah
Trust the way ya feel tonight, nah, nah
Heaven is a shot in the dark
So shoot with your heart
Don't think twice

Am I drunk or am I dreamin'? (Am I dreamin'?)
'Cause, babe, I've never seen this clear before
This could be your best investment (Best investment)
If you just stay right here

Love's a risky bid (Hey, yeah)
Play me like roulette (Hey, yeah)
Don't think with your head
No, no, no, no
I don't ask for much (Hey, yeah)
Just all of your love (Hey, yeah)

Baby, don't think twice, nah, nah
One second can change your life, nah, nah
Trust the way ya feel tonight, nah, nah
Heaven is a shot in the dark
So shoot with your heart
And don't think twice, nah, nah

(Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah)
You better love
(Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah)
Come to me, ooh
(Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah)
Ooh, yeah
(Nah, nah, nah, nah)
Shoot for the starts, shoot for your heart
And aim for love

Love's a risky bid (Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah)
Play me like roulette (And love somebody)
Don't think with your head (Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah)
Don't think with your head (You better love somebody)
Love's a risky bid
Play me like roulette (Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah)
Don't think with your head
Baby, don't think twice, nah, nah
One second can change your life, nah, nah
Trust the way ya feel tonight, nah, nah
Heaven is a shot in the dark
So shoot with your heart
And don't think twice, nah, nah

Bence reklamı lansmanı iyi yapamıyorlar. O cidden çok harika.

@Shawn Halltbh she does have that wow? I think that's an old observation and label that's always been put on her. She can outsing most artists, and relases better pop music than many. The industry is 70% marketing, and unfortunately she doesn't have that push behind her anymore. She's just happy with where she is and the music she is making. She's basically an independent artist now.

Mrs Ora

@Shawn Hall For me Rita has the wow factor because she makes top teir pop music, in line with the biggest names in pop. And can outsing them, making her better than every other pop artist in my opinion. But she isn't marketed well unfortunately🥲 she's had her success anyway, she's got nothing left to prove.

She was massive 10 plus years ago that's why - it's hard to stay relevant. How many singers from 10 years ago are pumping out music all the time, not many.

Haha, love your joke

O fato dessa diva lançar músicas assim tão incríveis é o que me faz ficar cada vez mais apaixonada por ela e por todas as suas músicas ❤ É pra mim uma das melhores cantoras, te amo rita! 😍😍😍

Love the random dancing. The whole song is about doubting oneself for feeling a certain way, so the very random way that Rita is moving feels like it’s what is best for her at the exact moment. Marvelous work.
