The Times They Are a-Changin'
Bob Dylan Lyrics

Come gather 'round people
Wherever you roam
And admit that the waters
Around you have grown
And accept it that soon
You'll be drenched to the bone
If your time to you is worth savin'
And you better start swimmin'
Or you'll sink like a stone
For the times they are a-changin'

Come writers and critics
Who prophesize with your pen
And keep your eyes wide
The chance won't come again
And don't speak too soon
For the wheel's still in spin
And there's no tellin' who
That it's namin'
For the loser now
Will be later to win
For the times they are a-changin'

Come senators, congressmen
Please heed the call
Don't stand in the doorway
Don't block up the hall
For he that gets hurt
Will be he who has stalled
The battle outside ragin'
Will soon shake your windows
And rattle your walls
For the times they are a-changin'

Come mothers and fathers
Throughout the land
And don't criticize
What you can't understand
Your sons and your daughters
Are beyond your command
Your old road is rapidly agin'
Please get out of the new one
If you can't lend your hand
For the times they are a-changin'

The line it is drawn
The curse it is cast
The slow one now
Will later be fast
As the present now
Will later be past
The order is rapidly fadin'
And the first one now
Will later be last
For the times they are a-changin'

Man, something about that part brought a chill to my body. My generation is headed out the door.

Young Dylan

This verse seems very prophetic right now

Come senators, congressmen
Please heed the call
Don't stand in the doorway
Don't block up the hall
For he that gets hurt
Will be he who has stalled
The battle outside ragin'
Will soon shake your windows
And rattle your walls
For the times they are a-changin'

"Songs can't save the world. I've gone through all that."

@Crow Sword Moving songs or poems that can re order our thinking giving us renewed hope, are jewels to brighten our crowns and lighten our load. Therefore let’s give credit to those who have this lifting ability.

But maybe they can save one person.

Time changes all things.
None of us are the same.
We’ve changed. What we laughed at yesterday we embrace today. For the times they are a changing. Whoever God is whoever He might be.
Jesus Christ said that He is He.
He’s saying hey I am the way the truth and the life. The times they are a changing because He is right.

No words. Bob says them all.

But you used words to say "no words". This is something of a mind fuck.

@Richard Carew basically stealing, no?

@Richard Carew Read the Soviet student's syllabus for political economy ( before Khrushchov), read Marxist classics by Marx, Engels, Lenin, Stalin, Mao and so on. I love that you prefer to read. Please do read them, as any explanation I give will be simplistic to the point of underappreciation. It has taken me long enough to read instead of having wrong assumptions. If you want I'll provide you the basic definition of socialism: worker ownership over the means of production ( in the strictly economic sense), and also the emancipation of marginalised groups and the parity between the people of the world, for them to be able to live on their merits, and their labour alone. I'm sure you will agree with this.
Ask if a more detailed explanation is required.
