It’s hard to find words for this song. Really. Has to be one of Bob’s top three. But again, we never hear of it. Least I don’t. Like A Rolling Stone is what everybody knows and it’s an incredible song. And probably my soundtrack in some ways. But this? This? Fuckin ‘ell. Entirely takes your breathe away. The unrelenting outpouring of pure ❤️ love. And when one image leaves you speechless, he produces another which might just stop your 💜 heart. It’s like having a happy death by drowning in love. I hope really hope that that’s what my mother meant when she said I’d die by drowning. What a way to go!!! She also said she’d talked to a fortune teller the year before Clodagh was born, so summer of 68. The fortune teller told her that I would fall in love and marry but quite late in life. The fortune teller told her she would have a baby the following year but that there would be a health issue. That happened. Clodagh was born with PKU. Pretty common it seems in Ireland Scotland Norway Sweden. We were all then tested at the time but none of the rest of us are carriers of the gene. And both parents carry the gene. My mum gave up work then for five years until Clodagh went to school. It was very difficult for them. And she got so spoilt and got so much attention and I think she was entirely unplanned as Declan was born 64. I was listening yesterday to the hits of 71. Watching the River Flow is there. But also I Never Promised You a Rose 🌹 Garden. I have a tape of Clodagh as a toddler being asked does she know the song. My father or Deirdre keep saying, I beg your pardon, and she says Rose Garden.and then goes off on a song of her own where she keeps sayin just beg your pardon. It’s very funny. My dad recorded so much. You can hear how attentive everyone is. I’m on it too. I would’ve been eight maybe. Trying to encourage another child to sing. Clodagh ended up being fine because of my mother’s absolute adherence to dietary rules. It broke her heart that a child had to get blood taken every single week when she was young for years. I remember distinctly her getting whooping cough and nearly dying on her third birthday just as Bloody Sunday happened. They had to take her to the Hospital for Sick Children in Belfast on the Falls while the Falls was in 🔥 flames after Bloody Sunday. They were scared but it was what they had to do to save her life. She has no idea of any of this. She now doesn’t speak to me because Deirdre once again has told her not to. She cried on the phone to me about three months ago about how she was sorry she hadn’t spoken to me for years because Deirdre forbade her. I didn’t say where was your backbone but rather it’s ok, I knew, it doesn’t matter anymore, we’re talking now. Somehow Deirdre has influenced both Clodagh and Damian not to have anything to do with me. Again. And to my dying day I shall have no idea how she does this.

I once met Frances Tomelty, the actress daughter of the playwright Joe Tomelty who was married to weirdo Sting. Met her at a book signing in Belfast. She towered over me. She was astonishing to look at. Up to. Beautiful red hair and white white skin and piercing eyes. She was very friendly and warm. She escaped obviously from the C Sting. Interesting he called himself Sting. I later saw her in the film The Field with the irreplaceable Richard Harris. Jesus if ever there was a man to have a good time. Him and O’Toole.
