Bob Fitts Lyrics

Hear the cry of Your people
Oh God
As we call on Your name
Oh God
Come pour out Your mercy
As we pray
As we pray
We are called to be
A people of prayer
Of fervent petition
Compassion and care
We arise to meet this call to share
The light of Your glory
Your mighty deliverance
The power of You passion
For people everywhere
The first stanza of the song holds a significant message for all Christians. It talks about the cry of God's people and how they are calling upon His name. It highlights the importance of prayer, where people come together to seek God's mercy. The two lines, "Oh God come pour out Your mercy, As we pray, as we pray," show how powerful prayer can be. Prayer is an essential way of seeking God's help in times of trouble, and it brings peace to troubled souls.
The second stanza talks about how we are called to be a people of prayer. We are supposed to stand in the gap and make fervent petitions in prayer for our communities, nations, and loved ones. We must lead a compassionate life, caring for others, just as Christ did, and share the light of his glory wherever we go. This stanza shows that we need to arise and answer the call to pray, as prayer changes things. There's God's mighty deliverance and powerful passion that brings hope and healing to people everywhere.
In conclusion, the lyrics of "As We Pray" by Bob Fitts highlight the significance of prayer in a believer's life. Prayer is a powerful weapon that can change the world when we join our hearts in prayer. The lyrics inspire Christians to arise and pray, to be a people of prayer, and to share God's glory, passion, and deliverance with others.

Praise God! My siblings and l listened to Bob Fitts back in the early 90's enroute to church. It is indeed an awakening to have a fervency in our prayer life. God inhabits our praises so it will be foolish to turn away from Him. He is the Redeemer of the lost and hurting and He is faithful to give us His peace. Praise Him in your valley or in your mountain. He hears!
