I'm Still Wailing
Bob Marley & The Wailers Lyrics

(I'm still waiting;
I'm still waiting;
I'm still waiting;
I'm still waiting for you,
Why, oh why? Why, oh why?)

I said-a my feet won't keep me up anymore.
Well, every little beat my heart beats, girl,
It's at-a your door.
I just want to love you
And I'm never gonna hurt you, girl.
So why won't you come out to me now, girl?
Oh, can't you see I'm under your spell?
But I got to - got to go.
Why, girl? Oh why, girl? Oh!

Woah, my gosh, the rain is fallin',
And I just can't stop callin'.
And I just can't tell the raindrops
From my teardrops
Falling down my face.
Mm, look at it, yeah!
It isn't really raindrops.

(I'm still waiting) Teardrops falling down my face.
(I'm still waiting)
(I'm still waiting) I'm still waitin'.
(I'm still waiting) Yes, I will.

I wait in the rain, I wait in the sun.
Please, relieve me from these pains,
Oh pains, just pains.
I love you, yes I do.

But tell me, do you really love me, too?
Mm-mm. Mm.

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Bob Marley & The Wailers's song I'm Still Waiting are about a man who is waiting for the woman he loves to reciprocate his feelings. The singer is so deeply in love that he cannot stand being away from her. He describes how every little beat of his heart is at her door, and he just wants to love her without ever hurting her. However, the woman is not yet ready to come out to him, which makes him feel trapped under her spell. Nevertheless, he has to go and find his peace eventually.

The second stanza describes how the singer is completely devoted to the woman he loves. He is so consumed by his love that he cannot tell the raindrops from his tears. He loves her so much that he is willing to wait for her in the rain and the sun. He pleads with her to relieve him of his pains, expressing his unconditional love for her, and questions the sincerity of her love for him.

This is a wicked tune, i first hear it when I was a little over 10 years old in the sixties, i love it then, and it's loving me back in 2020, amid the coronavirus pandemic, this song just shows how talented and versatile the Wailers group were, in addition! these young men at the time when these songs were been played, they probably didn't even get a dime for these songs, but there's something the "DOWN PRESSERS" don't know, "You Can't Keep A Good Man Down" nuff said!

If you know Reggae, then bob is simply killin it if you know what I mean..

@DLCOrganization

No doubt about that. Of course, Reggae wasn't even created when this song was created and released.
As you can see, this is a Soul track.

Seth B -- That's actually the lead vocal of Bunny Wailer and not Bob Marley. If you want to hear Bob's voice from this same 1965 era, check out this song to compare: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R91b5saK5z0
