During 1970 and 1971, Wailer, Marley and Tosh worked with renowned reggae producers Leslie Kong and Lee "Scratch" Perry.
They released four albums before signing to Island Records in 1972. Two more albums were created before Tosh and Wailer left the band in 1974, citing grievances over label treatment and ideological differences. Marley carried on with a new line-up, including the I-Threes that put out seven more more albums. Marley died in 1981.
The Wailers were a groundbreaking ska and reggae group, noted for songs such as "Simmer Down", "Trenchtown Rock", "Nice Time", "War", "Stir It Up" and "Get Up, Stand Up".

Bob Marley & The Wailers Lyrics

I'm in bed send me a nurse, I'm thirsty thirsty Lord o' Mercy
Ooh we
What other bottle, sweeter the victory
I've got your love, the power of your glory, ah
Ooh yeah, trillin me
All right
Can't judge a mother by the skin of the father
Read me read me baby
I'm goin'
No water can quench thirst
I'm in bed, need a nurse
Can you understand
Do you understand me baby
I've got a bottle, sweet the victory
I've got your love, the power of your glory ah
Ooh we
All right
You've got your love and I've got mine
Workin together, they work fine, do you believe me, baby
Get it up baby
Break it back, turn it loose
What in heaven baby it got to choose
The lyrics of Bob Marley & The Wailers's song No Water are about the thirst of love that cannot be quenched by anything else but love. The singer is in need of love and affection so much that nothing can quench his thirst. He desires to have someone close to him who can understand him and fulfill his needs. The lines "No water can quench my thirst, I'm in bed send me a nurse, I'm thirsty thirsty Lord o' Mercy" emphasize his need for love and show that he feels helpless and powerless without it.
The lyrics suggest that the singer has found love and it's sweet like a victory. He has the power of love that fills him with glory and makes him feel alive. He encourages his partner to work together, and their love will be strong enough to overcome any obstacles. The line "Can't judge a mother by the skin of the father, can't judge a book by the skin on the cover yo, read me read me baby" suggests that he does not want to be judged by his external appearance but wants to be understood by someone who can read his emotions and desires.
Overall, the lyrics of No Water are a poetic expression of the human need for love, companionship, and fulfillment. They convey the message that nothing can quench our thirst for love except love itself, and it's the power of love that gives us strength and glory.
