Jealous
Bob Welch Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Cause i look in those green eyes
And i fall in love with her
All over again
Yeah, but this can be dangerous
Cause those green eyes seem to say yes
So easily & to so many men
Well i know i've got a jealous heart
A jealous mind
But i'm trying to keep a hold of my girl
Now loving so caring
But sometimes she's daring
And those big green eyes
They set you up for a fall
Now i'm tryin' to keep her
But i just can't reach her
That with me it's all
Or nothing at all
(repeat chorus)
The lyrics of Bob Welch's song "Jealous" talk about the challenges of being in a relationship with a woman who has captivating green eyes. The singer is helplessly in love with his partner and her striking green eyes, but at the same time, he struggles with feelings of jealousy because her eyes seem to attract many other men. Although he recognizes that he has a jealous heart and mind, he is determined to hold on to his girl despite the challenges.
The singer describes his relationship with his partner as one where their love is genuine and caring, but at times, she can be daring and unpredictable. He acknowledges that those gorgeous green eyes are a double-edged sword, setting up other men for a fall just as they did him. The singer is trying his best to hold on to her, but sometimes his efforts are futile.
Overall, the song's lyrics highlight the complexities of love and relationships, where deep affection can sometimes be clouded by insecurity and jealousy. It's a bittersweet reminder that loving someone can be both beautiful and challenging at the same time.
