The Thrill Is Gone
Bobby Blue Bland & BB King Lyrics

The thrill is gone away
The thrill is gone baby
The thrill is gone away
You know you done me wrong baby
You'll be sorry someday
The thrill is gone
The thrill is gone baby
The thrill is gone away from me
Although, I'll still live on
But so lonely I'll be
The thrill is gone
The thrill away for good
All the thrill is gone baby
It's gone away for good
Someday I know I'll be open armed baby
Just like I know, I know I should
I'm free now baby
I'm free from your spell
Free, free, free now baby
Baby, I'm free from your spell
Now that it's all over
All that I can do is wish you well
The thrill is gone
The thrill is gone away for good
The thrill is gone baby
The thrill is gone away for good
You know you done me wrong baby
You'll be sorry someday
The thrill is gone
I'm free from your spell, baby
Yes, I'm free oh I'm free from your spell
"The Thrill is Gone" is a soulful blues song about a love gone wrong. The lyrics speak of the loss of excitement and passion in a relationship. The singer expresses the pain and sorrow of a love that has faded away. He says that the "thrill" is gone and that he is now lonely, but he also expresses a sense of freedom from the pain that the relationship caused him. Additionally, the singer changes his tone throughout the song from being desolate in the beginning to a more reflective and positive outlook by the end.
The lyrics are very direct and emotional, without too much metaphor or symbolism. They convey a sense of sadness and regret, as well as a sense of acceptance of what has happened. This song has touched the hearts of many people around the world and has become an anthem for those who have lost love.
The song was written by Roy Hawkins and Rick Darnell and was first recorded by Roy Hawkins in 1951. However, it was Bobby "Blue" Bland's version, released in 1969, that became the most famous. It was B.B. King who played the classic guitar solo that became a signature of the song, with his distinctive staccato notes that would become his trademark sound. The song has since been covered by many artists, including Aretha Franklin, Eric Clapton, and Carlos Santana.

When I was a kid and blues would be playing in the house I would tell my mom I didn't like it. She told me "You will, you haven't lived long enough." She was dead right!!!! I can listen all day sometimes and never miss a blues fest. Two of my favorites!
