Once he started a solo career, Brown enjoyed commercial and critical success with his second album Don't Be Cruel (1988) which spawned five Billboard Hot 100 top 10 singles, including the number one hit "My Prerogative", and the Grammy Award-winning "Every Little Step". In 1989, Brown contributed two songs to the soundtrack of Ghostbusters II. In 1992, Brown married superstar singer Whitney Houston, with whom he later had a daughter named Bobbi Kristina Brown. The couple's drug issues and domestic disputes made them tabloid fodder.
Brown's next album Bobby (1992) spawned several singles including "Humpin' Around", "Get Away", and "Good Enough", however, sales of Bobby did not reach the level of its predecessor.
Brown also appeared in the films A Thin Line Between Love and Hate and Two Can Play That Game. He returned to New Edition for a reunion album and tour from 1996 to 1997, and returned with all six members for another stint in 2005. Brown and Houston starred in the 2005 reality show Being Bobby Brown; Houston filed for divorce two years later in 2007.

I'm, I'm the one you
I'm, king of stage
I'm, king of stage
Baby, I wanna tell you something
I'm the one you need
Baby, I wanna tell you something
Baby, I wanna tell you something
The way we feel is not a sin
Baby, I wanna tell you something
Just let the love begin
In one sense, it's curiosity
The rest is just formality
I see that look in your eyes
And your clever combinations
Breaking young hearts
Must be your occupation
Checking my Swatch, she was right on time
She walked so hot, hot, hot
Too sweet, a visual treat
One look and I'd leave my feet
Won't apologize for the way I feel
She shook me up with the rock and reel
I asked the girl if she was ready to ride
Three seconds later she was by my side
Baby, I wanna tell you something
I'm the one you need
Baby, I wanna tell you something
For you my heart bleeds
Baby, I wanna tell you something
The way we feel is not a sin
Baby, I wanna tell you something
Just let the love begin
What you've got is too hot to handle
For the ordinary guy and try they must
But with you they bite the dust
It seems they like that certain style
The night, baby, at our favorite spot
She gave me a kiss that I never forgot
I wasn't ready to turn in yet
But she said nothing more, I would get
So I guess I have to overwhelm you
Pick a star in the sky and I'll send you
Just grab my hand and let it shake
And listen to my drum while it starts to break
B.Brown, B.Brown
My name is B.Brown, B.Brown
Listen
Baby, I wanna tell you something
I'm the one you need
Baby, I wanna tell you something
For you my heart bleeds
Baby, I wanna tell you something
The way we feel is not a sin
Baby, I wanna tell you something
Just let the love begin

In Bobby Brown's song "Baby I Wanna Tell You Something," Brown declares himself as the king of the stage in the chorus. He confesses his feelings to a potential love interest and assures her that he is the one she needs. He also acknowledges the way they feel is not a sin and encourages her to let love begin.
The song starts with Brown confidently introducing himself as the king of the stage. He sings about the woman's clever combinations and how breaking young hearts might be her occupation. Brown then goes on to describe how the woman caught his attention, from her punctuality to her beautiful appearance. He asserts that what she has is too hot to handle for ordinary guys, and they can only bite the dust while trying to win her over.
In the chorus, Brown repeatedly expresses his feelings for the woman, telling her that he is the one she needs, and his heart bleeds for her. He encourages her to let love begin, and the song ends with Brown repeating his name and declaring himself as the king of the stage again.
