Once he started a solo career, Brown enjoyed commercial and critical success with his second album Don't Be Cruel (1988) which spawned five Billboard Hot 100 top 10 singles, including the number one hit "My Prerogative", and the Grammy Award-winning "Every Little Step". In 1989, Brown contributed two songs to the soundtrack of Ghostbusters II. In 1992, Brown married superstar singer Whitney Houston, with whom he later had a daughter named Bobbi Kristina Brown. The couple's drug issues and domestic disputes made them tabloid fodder.
Brown's next album Bobby (1992) spawned several singles including "Humpin' Around", "Get Away", and "Good Enough", however, sales of Bobby did not reach the level of its predecessor.
Brown also appeared in the films A Thin Line Between Love and Hate and Two Can Play That Game. He returned to New Edition for a reunion album and tour from 1996 to 1997, and returned with all six members for another stint in 2005. Brown and Houston starred in the 2005 reality show Being Bobby Brown; Houston filed for divorce two years later in 2007.

In other words, silly y'all
Yeah, we still husslin' overtime, baby
Yeah, you know it's been a long time, mighty long time
But happy days are here again, y'all, listen up
People say I'm the life of the party
Because I live the way that I do
The pressure has me so confuse
I live my life the way I want
'Cause God has given me that choice
But I had to find out the hard way
That nothing for nothing leaves nothing
But there's just one thing I gotta say
It's a brand new day
Happy days are here again
Happy days are here again
Happy days are here again
Happy days are here again
Yeah, come on
Now that things are so much better
I have found out life is worth so much more
And you can't take life for granted
'Cause you don't know what life has in store
But there's just one thing I gotta say
It's a brand new day
Happy days are here again
Happy days are here again
Happy days are here again
Happy days are here again
Aight y'all come on, yeah
You are now listenin' to the sounds
Of the mad Mob and Bobby Brown y'all
Yeah come on
It feels good, don't it?
It feels good, don't it?
Aight y'all, come on
Happy days
Happy days are here again
Happy days are here again
Happy days are here again
Happy days are here again
Ayo, do me a favor
Happy as it gets, no shit I get lick
Oh, look it here another B.Brown platinum hit
You didn't think he was coming back
But yet, still keep comin' back with the real
Son, keep the mic, so ball with the Brown
Or get that ass outta town
(Yeah, kid y'all know how we doin' it for the 90's)
Yo, I forgot, be remind me
The lyrics to Bobby Brown's "Happy Days" express a sense of relief and gratitude after a time of struggle - both personally and professionally. Bobby Brown, speaking to his friend Shaw (silly, y'all), acknowledges that he has experienced pressure and confusion in his life. People may perceive him as the life of the party, but they don't truly understand the struggles he has faced. Brown expresses his belief in living life on his own terms, even if that means making mistakes along the way. However, he has also learned the hard lesson that if you don't put in the work, you won't reap the rewards. The chorus, "Happy days are here again," is a proclamation that after a long and difficult journey, things have finally turned around for him. Brown emphasizes the importance of not taking life for granted, as you never know what it has in store.
What's interesting about "Happy Days" is that it was released in 1992, a time when Bobby Brown's personal life was very tumultuous. He had been in the tabloids for his relationship with Whitney Houston, who he would later marry, and had been arrested for drug possession. This song could be seen as a reflection of his desire to turn his life around and find joy after a difficult time.
