Darin was a very special and talented entertainer. He was a Grammy award winning singer ('Mack The Knife'), a respected member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ('Dream Lover', 'Splish Splash', 'If I Were A Carpenter') a member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame, a successful record producer, an Oscar nominated actor and a strong supporter of the American Heart Association. Bobby was married to actress Sandra Dee from 1960-1967. They had one son, Dodd, born in December 1961. As a result of complications from a rheumatic heart, Bobby's life was tragically cut short in 1973.
Darin's mother, Vanina Cassotto, had given birth to him when she was 16, and as a result, her parents raised Darin as though he were their son while Vanina was presented off as his elder sister. Darin did not learn the truth about his parentage until he was 32.

Don't Think Twice It's All Right

It don't matter anyhow
And there ain′t no use to sit and wonder why babe
If you don't know by now.
When the rooster crows at the break of dawn
Look out your window I'll be gone
You′re the reason I′m traveling on
Ain't no use in turnin′ on your light babe
A light I'll never know
Ain′t no use in turnin' on your light babe
I'm on the dark side of the road.
Still I wish there was something you would do or say
To try and make me change my mind and stay
We never did too much talking anyway
Don′t think twice it′s all right.
I'm walkin′ down that long lonesome road babe
Where I'm bound I can′t tell
But goodbye is too good a word gal
So I'll just say fare thee well.
Now I ain′t saying you treated me unkind
You could have done better but I don't mind
You just sorta wasted my precious time
Don't think twice it′s all right.
Don′t think twice it's all right...
In Bob Dylan's enigmatic song "Don't Think Twice, It's All Right," the singer is addressing someone who may have been a past love interest. The singer believes that there is no point in trying to understand why the relationship ended since it is not going to change anything. Even if the person has not figured out why the breakup happened, they do not need to bother with it now. The singer then goes on to talk about how they will be leaving soon and reflects on the hardships of being on the road. The final verse affirms that the singer was not treated unkindly, but they feel as though their time was thrown away. The refrain "don't think twice, it's all right" becomes an illustration of the singer's overall stance toward the situation.
