Darin was a very special and talented entertainer. He was a Grammy award winning singer ('Mack The Knife'), a respected member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ('Dream Lover', 'Splish Splash', 'If I Were A Carpenter') a member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame, a successful record producer, an Oscar nominated actor and a strong supporter of the American Heart Association. Bobby was married to actress Sandra Dee from 1960-1967. They had one son, Dodd, born in December 1961. As a result of complications from a rheumatic heart, Bobby's life was tragically cut short in 1973.
Darin's mother, Vanina Cassotto, had given birth to him when she was 16, and as a result, her parents raised Darin as though he were their son while Vanina was presented off as his elder sister. Darin did not learn the truth about his parentage until he was 32.

To answer your unspoken prayer, oh....
When the little things you're doin', ooh, don't turn out right
Don't you worry darlin' I'll be there
There whenever you need to know that there is someone who cares, oh yeah!
So if your new love isn't your true love
Don't you worry darlin', I'll be there
There whenever you need to know that there is someone who cares, oh yeah!
So if your new love isn't your true love
Don't you worry darlin', I'll be there
Don't you worry darlin', I'll be there
Don't you worry darlin', I'll be there
The song "I'll Be There" by Bobby Darin is a comforting message to a loved one who is going through a difficult time. The song expresses Darin's dedication to being there for the person no matter what happens. The opening line, "I'll be there when all your dreams are broken," sets the tone for the rest of the song. Darin sings about being there to answer unspoken prayers and to provide comfort when things don't go as planned. The repeated refrain, "Don't you worry darlin' I'll be there," reinforces the message of support and reassurance.
The song speaks to the universal human need for love and support, especially during times of hardship. Darin's lyrics convey a sense of loyalty and devotion to the person he's addressing in the song. The line "So if your new love isn't your true love" suggests that Darin is willing to step in and offer comfort if the person's romantic relationship goes awry. Love this song! Love Bobby Darin!
@lzontek
Have to admit the first time I heard this song, it was Gerry Marsden's version and I loved it. I grew up in a Bobby Darin loving household, and when I found out it was Bobby's song I instantly listened to' it. I find I love both versions, I actually saw Gerry sing it live in Brighton, England in the 70s but most unfortunately was too young to ever see Bobby Darin perform it live. He died way too young.

His music has no time limits even my younger son listens to all his music. He was taken way too soon. A young man with so much talent, yet someone who wanted to make a difference in the world. You're missed Bobby even now. But so happy you were here even though in our hearts it was no long enough

I still miss Bobby. He was taken from us much too early. A sublime voice who captures every note and word with perfection. RIP Bobby. Here’s to your memory.

Bobby Darin's self penned and recorded song "I'll Be There" is the best version. His unique versatile multi-talents took Bobby along many varied paths in his life and giving his fans the opportunity to see just what this young man was really all about. If Bobby had made it through his recovery this world would have been a bigger oyster for him than it already was at the time. Bobby's songs are timeless and I always experience great joy listening to them, even my young nine year old grand child loves listening to him, singing along. Says something for music of the 50's, 60's and early 70's doesn't it. Fantastic era in time. Best ever in the business. Love Bobby's entire enormous body of work, man is a genius. RIP Bobby !!!!!!
