Darin was a very special and talented entertainer. He was a Grammy award winning singer ('Mack The Knife'), a respected member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ('Dream Lover', 'Splish Splash', 'If I Were A Carpenter') a member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame, a successful record producer, an Oscar nominated actor and a strong supporter of the American Heart Association. Bobby was married to actress Sandra Dee from 1960-1967. They had one son, Dodd, born in December 1961. As a result of complications from a rheumatic heart, Bobby's life was tragically cut short in 1973.
Darin's mother, Vanina Cassotto, had given birth to him when she was 16, and as a result, her parents raised Darin as though he were their son while Vanina was presented off as his elder sister. Darin did not learn the truth about his parentage until he was 32.

The End of Never
Bobby Darin Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Come whatever Not before
When this earth is chilled by the sun
Then the love we've begun
Will be over and done
I will leave you far beyond forever
Past the music heaven hums
But I pray the end of never
And I pray the end of never
Never comes
The lyrics speak of a love that will last beyond eternity, beyond forever, and will only be over at the end of never, when the earth is finally chilled by the sun. The singer promises to never leave their love until that very moment, and even then, wishes for the end of never to never come. This can be interpreted in several ways. It could be seen as a poetic expression of eternal love, the kind that transcends time and space. It could also be interpreted as an acknowledgment that all things must end, even the most beautiful ones, and the singer wishes for that end to be delayed as much as possible.
Furthermore, the lyrics in "End of Never" are also open to interpretation about the idea of mortality. One might see the lyrics as an acknowledgement of death, as it is an unavoidable end that everyone must face. The line "When this earth is chilled by the sun" can be read as a reference to the eventual end of the world, the apocalypse, when everything comes to a close. In this way, the singer is promising to stick with their love until the very end, when everything is gone. 'End of Never' is a song that reflects on the fragility of life and the enduring nature of love.

One heck of a entertainer. A life cut way to soon. RIP Mr. Darin. Remember one thing he was one of the first Emmy winners, in the late 50s. When the emmys started.
