Darin was a very special and talented entertainer. He was a Grammy award winning singer ('Mack The Knife'), a respected member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ('Dream Lover', 'Splish Splash', 'If I Were A Carpenter') a member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame, a successful record producer, an Oscar nominated actor and a strong supporter of the American Heart Association. Bobby was married to actress Sandra Dee from 1960-1967. They had one son, Dodd, born in December 1961. As a result of complications from a rheumatic heart, Bobby's life was tragically cut short in 1973.
Darin's mother, Vanina Cassotto, had given birth to him when she was 16, and as a result, her parents raised Darin as though he were their son while Vanina was presented off as his elder sister. Darin did not learn the truth about his parentage until he was 32.

You'll never know just how much I care
And if I tried, I still couldn't hide my love for you
You ought to know, for haven't I told you so
A million or more times?
You went away and my heart went with you
I speak your name in my every prayer
I swear I don't know how
You'll never know if you don't know now
(You went away and my heart went with you
I speak your name in my every prayer)
If there is some other way to prove that I love you
I swear I don't know how
You'll never know if you don't know now
You'll never know if you don't know now
The lyrics of Bobby Darin's "You'll Never Know" express his deep desire to let his lover know how much he loves and misses them. He wishes that his lover could understand the intensity of his emotions towards them, even though he has told them in many ways before. The repetition of the lines "You'll never know just how much I miss you" and "You'll never know just how much I care" emphasizes the depth of his love and the futility of trying to hide it.
The lyrics further convey that the absence of his lover has caused a great void in his life, evident in the line, "You went away and my heart went with you." His love is so significant that he prays for his lover and speaks their name in every prayer. The final lines of the chorus, "If there is some other way to prove that I love you, I swear I don't know how. You'll never know if you don't know now" emphasizes that he wants to find a way to prove his love beyond words, and he wishes for his lover to realize the value of his love while they are together.
Overall, the song's lyrics express a universal theme of love and longing that can resonate with listeners who may be experiencing similar emotions.

One heck of a entertainer. A life cut way to soon. RIP Mr. Darin. Remember one thing he was one of the first Emmy winners, in the late 50s. When the emmys started.
