Hendricks was a member of The Swallows, The Flyers, and sang lead with The Drifters before becoming a successful solo act (he sang The Drifters' "Drip Drop").
His single "Itchy Twitchy Feeling," which was covered by his former band soon after it began attracting radio airplay, hit the U.S. charts, reaching #5 on the Black Singles chart and #25 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1958. Hendricks's only other charting single, "Psycho," was a novelty song depicting a psychiatrist talking with a patient. Psycho peaked at #73 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1960. New York City disc jockey Dr. Jive (Tommy Smalls) was the voice of the psychiatrist on "Psycho."
From 1961, off and on, through 2008, Bobby Hendricks worked as lead singer with Bill Pinkney's Original Drifters and appeared with them on PBS in the Doo Wop 51 television broadcast and Doo Wop Love Songs, singing "Stand By Me" with Bill Pinkney, Charlie Thomas, and Ben E. King.

If you haven’t seen “A Face in the Crowd” you should, it is Andy Griffiths finest work as an Actor.
@MrMenefrego1
so true!
@MegaJustGeorge
Sid, I've seen this movie, and I have the DVD of this movie - it is truly a shockingly prophetic story.
@rockvilleraven
@@MegaJustGeorge They could make a remake of this film and it would still be relevant, but not as good as the original.
@MegaJustGeorge
@@rockvilleraven I wholeheartedly agree with you, my friend - any remake of "A Face in the Crowd" would never be as good as the original. and I believe that's because Andy Griffith played the character of Larry "Lonesome" Rhodes so very well.
@aquamarine99911
@@MegaJustGeorge And you can see it it in Andy's facial expressions during this interview - all those aspects of Lonesome Rhode's character. He's the only guy who could ever play him. Just as Angela Lansbury was the only one who could play the mother in the original Manchurian Candidate. Meryl Streep is a hell of an actress, maybe the best ever, but she couldn't come close to Angela in the remake. But Face in the Crowd is such a great story - and, yeah, timely - so I'd be curious to see it just as I was for the Manchurian Candidate remake.
@Mr5083
I grew up as a little kid watching Andy , im almost 60 now , I miss you Andy RIP

Was a Young Donald Trump on Andy Griffith ep.14 1st season ? The horse Trader . I watched it but they may have cut it out .
@ArthurMorgan-pq4tr
I just turned 17 and I also grew up watching the Andy Griffith show. I remember when he died. I miss him. But I watch The Andy Griffith Show just about everyday. I have since I was 8 or 9.
@ArthurMorgan-pq4tr
@@puretrashnotforchildren7484 Yeah. He was playing some punk that moved to Mayberry and was getting Opie and his friends in all sorts of trouble. He threatened and bullied Opie until Opie decided to stand up to him and Trump backed down. Basically he was a weasel. A far cry from what he is as a President. He's a strong leader and I appreciate all he's done. A few things he's done I don't quite like but other than those few things I like him.
