He has also worked in collaboration with instrumental performers including pianist Chick Corea and cellist Yo-Yo Ma. This collaboration has established him as an ambassador of both the classical and jazz worlds. His recordings have sold over 20 million copies.
In addition to his vocal performing career, Mr. McFerrin was appointed in 1994 as creative chair of the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra.
He is the subject of a persistent yet wholly unfounded rumour that he has committed suicide. The rumor was so strong that the official Bobby McFerrin FAQ addressed the question.
Mr. McFerrin and his oft-maligned hit "Don't Worry, Be Happy" were parodied on "The Simpsons" as "I'm Worried - Need Money".

Drive away
Drive so far
No one's gonna find me
Put my foot on the gas
Accelerate
Drive so fast
No one's gonna catch me
Gonna get in the car
Drive away
Drive so far
No one's gonna find me
Put my foot on the gas
Accelerate
Drive so fast
No one's gonna catch me
Gonna get in the car
Drive away
Drive so far
No one's gonna find me
Put my foot on the gas
Accelerate
Drive so fast
No one's gonna catch me
No one's gonna catch me
Bobby McFerrin's song "Drive" delivers a powerful message through its lyrics, conveying the idea of escapism, the desire to run away from the world and all its troubles. The song's opening verse talks about getting into a car and driving away so far that nobody can find the singer. The song then repeats the same lyrics two more times emphasizing the need to escape.
The lyrics of "Drive" describe a common phenomenon of the modern world, where people under stress or pressure sometimes feel the urge to escape from their routine, life, and responsibilities. They wish to drive away from all that troubles them and leave behind their problems for good. Although running away doesn't solve anything, it seems like an appealing proposition to those who reach their limits.
Overall, "Drive" drives the message that escape is not an answer in itself. Escaping reality may provide temporary relief, but it is not a proper solution to one's issues, and it certainly does not resolve them. Eventually, the problems will catch up. One may end up right where they started, and perhaps even worse because they have delayed dealing with the issues at hand.

This man is so under-rated as a living loving musical machine of melody and merriment.

@Smo1k i know im late but if u havent watch the live version like they said dont tske from his talent
@Smo1k
@justsomename _________ I'm not belittling Bobby McFerrin's talent, skills or vision: A sound engineer can't put in what's not already there. My pet peeve is simply that people tend to overlook the support needed to bring a performance from "good enough" to "Wow!"
...and I did watch the live version from Montreal. There's an engineer on that, too ;)
