He first became famous as a house singer on the television series Shindig! from 1964 to 1966. For several years, he tried to record singles and break out into the music industry, but he did not have much luck until he earned a role as a bashful, stammering logger on the television series Here Come the Brides.
In 1969, his first gold single, "Little Woman", became popular, peaking at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and spending nine weeks in the top 20, effectively cementing his status as a performer popular with teenage girls. His other hits were "Julie (Do Ya Love Me)", "Easy Come, Easy Go", "Jennifer" , "La La La" and "The Drum" (written by Alan O'Day).
In 1971, after a high-rated appearance on The Partridge Family, he was given his own show on ABC, called Getting Together. The show was up against All in the Family on Saturday nights and due to the tough competition, the show was canceled after just thirteen episodes. However, both the television series and the hit theme song of the same name landed a number of cover stories on teenage magazines such as Tiger Beat.
In 1972, his first son was born, with another son following in 1974. Sherman guest-starred in several episodes of the Jack Webb series, Emergency!, and found a new calling. It was at this time that Sherman focused more on his personal life, eventually leaving the public spotlight. He soon volunteered with the Los Angeles Police Department, focusing on paramedic, CPR, and first aid classes. He is also a full-fledged San Bernardino County sheriff. According to Sherman, "I've been bestowed a mountain of blessings. I felt a need to start giving back." The entertainer has been given several awards for his humanitarian efforts.

You've got to come into my world leave your world behind
Come on now
Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na
You got to come down from that cloud girl and leave your world behind
When your with me I feel sunshine even when I'm standing in the rain
Something happens that I can't explain when I hear your name
You're always chasing rainbows in your mind
There's so much I wanna say to you
But there's so little time
Hey little woman please make up your mind
You've got to come into my world
And leave your world behind
Come on now
Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na
You got to come down from that cloud girl and leave your world behind
What do you see when your walking down a busy street and I'm not there
Is my picture hanging in your mind
Walking with you there
That's how it is in my world girl
You're with me all the time
Why don't you come into my world and leave your world behind
Hey little woman please make up your mind
You've got to come into my world leave your world behind
Alright now
Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na
You got to come down from that cloud girl and leave your world behind
Alright now
Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na
You got to come into my world and leave your world behind
Come on girl
Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na
You got to come into my world and leave your world behind
In the lyrics to "Little Woman," Bobby Sherman pleads with his love interest to choose him over her current lifestyle. He wants her to leave her "world" behind and come into his, where he promises her sunshine, love, and happiness. He tries to convince her that she is always chasing rainbows in her mind, but staying in her current situation will never allow her to achieve true happiness.
Through the lyrics, Sherman's deep love for this woman is evident, as he paints a picture of his love as a constant companion in his mind. He longs for her to share this close bond and asks her to walk with him through life. He implores her to consider what she sees on busy streets when he is not with her and see if the picture of him still hangs prominently in her mind.
Overall, "Little Woman" is a love ballad that portrays the singer's deep longing for his love interest to choose him and their future over her current lifestyle.

This was the best era by far! Growing up in the late 60's and 70's was such a magical time... I wish everyone could have experienced it! I wouldn't trade that time for anything...
