Devil Or Angel
Bobby Vee Lyrics

Devil or angel, I can't make up my mind
Which one you are I'd like to wake up and find
Devil or angel dear, whichever you are
I miss you, I miss you, I-I miss you

Devil or angel please say you'll be mine
Love me or leave me, I'll go out of my mind
Devil or angel dear, whichever you are
I need you, I need you, I need you
You look like an angel
Your smile is divine
But you keep me guessin'
Will you ever be mine?

Devil or angel please say you'll be mine
Love me or leave, I've made up my mind
Devil or angel dear, whichever you are
I love you, I love you, I-I love you

Devil or angel please say you'll be mine
Love me or leave, I've made up my mind
Devil or angel dear, whichever you are
I love you, I love you, I love you

This song was huge 55 years ago during my freshman year in college. I had a humongous crush on a girl in my home town and i went home every weekend just to see her. She hated my guts, but that is another story. I never heard this song without thinking of her. Even now, when I am 55 years older -- and supposedly tons smarter -- I still think of her when I hear this song.

I loved Bobby Vee. Turns out his in-laws lived next door to my daughter, sad how he passed away.

Bill Morse air Force Base today but I will be there in the morning 😊

I was 14 yrs old, and a huge Bobby Vee fan. When I spotted a new guy at my school, I thought he looked so much like BV, his hair was nearly the same color, and combed it exactly the same (the waterfall) they could have been brothers, we were both in 8th grade. He had just recently been transfer from a Catholic school to my public school. I always got excited when I'd see him but was too shy to talk to him or say hi. When I stopped seeing in school, I discovered he had moved. Well that's when I sent a letter to a classmate at his old school, we used their classroom for catechism on Saturdays. I ask the other kid that if he knew Bill could he pass along my message with my phone number, I wanted to talk to Bill. It worked! I was in heaven and would often play my BV 45's I'd get that special feeling with; The Night Has a thousand Eyes, Run To Him, Rubber Ball, etc,...
He called me, guess he liked me too, or maybe he was just curious. We would talk on the phone for hours on the weekends, a few times we would meet at church, or catechism, I didn't want my parents to know I had a bf. But they found out when my cousin caught us together at church and she snitched! Then one day he suddenly & unexpectedly he stopped calling, or taking my calls, I was heartbroken, & devastated I was only 14 yrs old. So heartbroken I didn't have another bf for the next 6 yrs, until I was 20. After he dumped me, another cousin stole his phone number from me, and began prank calling him with her gf's. Then I found out he was seeing one of the girls, she went to my school, and she was fat, and not very attractive, (this was the 60's pre -fast food times, and young girls weren't fat back in those years) anyway it didn't make me feel so good. They eventually married. I felt my cousin betrayed me. That's my Bobby Vee story connection.
I enjoyed reading the other stories, some even made me laugh, thanks for sharing.

Bill Crum, I agree. "Life would not be so good..."
Life IS good, and technology is wonderful. I was 14 yrs old in the basement with my brother's record-player, "Devil or Angel",
"Be whichever you a-a-are"! Sing it! Now 72 and I find it again!
