Lookin' for a Love
Bobby Womack Lyrics

I'm lookin' for a love
I'm gonna find
I've got to find someone
I'm lookin' for a love
Everyday I'm lookin' for a love
Well I'm and I'm lookin' here and there
And I'm lookin' I'm lookin'
I'm lookin', I'm lookin'
I'm lookin' for a love, lookin' for a love
Well now and I'm lookin' here and there
Searching everywhere gotta, gotta, gotta
I've gotta, I've gotta find someone
Someone to get up in the mornin'
And rub my head
Someone to fix my breakfast
And bring it to my bed
Someone to do a little housework
And back with me again yeah
With lots of love and kisses
And (?)
But right now, oh
I'm lookin' for a love, yes sir
Everyday of my life
And I'm lookin' here and there
And I'm searching everywhere
And I'm lookin' I'm lookin'
I'm lookin', I'm lookin'
I'm lookin' for a love
I'm lookin' for a love
I'm lookin' for a love
The song "Lookin' for a Love" by Bobby Womack is about searching for love and companionship. The singer sings about how actively and consistently he is on the hunt for someone to love him, someone to wake up next to and kiss, someone to share his life with. He describes the qualities he's looking for in a partner, like willingness to do housework and offering love and affection. At the same time, he emphasizes how urgent this quest is for him - he's actively searching every day and feeling the need to find someone as soon as possible.
The repetition of the phrase "I'm lookin' for a love" and the urgency in Womack's voice emphasizes the importance of this search to the singer. At the same time, the upbeat tempo of the music provides a contrast to the somewhat desperate lyrics, giving listeners a sense of hope that the search could be successful.

One of the greatest guitar players of our time

Totally agree ! Even more impressive is I understand Bobby was one of those naturally lefthand guitarists who learned to play the right handed guitar upside down for the most part!

This was one of the only songs that would calm my baby down when he cried. This was 2016. Thank you Mr. Womack and continue to R.I.H.P

The background singers have a gospel sound. What a great song!
@waynepolk4179
Bobby started in gospel with his brothers in a group called The Valentinos backed by Sam Cooke. Years later in the early 1960s he rounded his brothers up to create this song. They are his old gospel singing brothers on this song!

He's was also the Godson of the late Mr. Jay T. Klinkscales who sang bass for The Five Blind Boys Of Mississippi.
