Besame mucho
Bocelli A. Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Bocelli Andrea's song "Besame Mucho" are about cherishing every moment with a loved one as if it were the last. The phrase "besame mucho" translates to "kiss me a lot" in English, and the song repeats this phrase throughout, emphasizing the passion and intensity of the love being conveyed. The singer expresses fear of losing the one they love and emphasizes the need to cherish the present moment. The lyrics also touch on the idea that tomorrow might bring separation, and the singer wants to make the most of the time they have together. The song is a beautiful tribute to the power of love and the importance of living in the present moment.

"Besame Mucho" was written by Mexican songwriter Consuelo Velazquez in 1940 when she was only 16 years old. The song has since become one of the most recorded songs of all time, with over 1,000 recorded versions. It has been covered by a variety of artists, including The Beatles, Doris Day, and Diana Krall. The song is considered a classic in both the Latin American and jazz genres. Interestingly, the song's success led to accusations of plagiarism against Velazquez, prompting her to write and release an entirely new song in response.

💖 ~ Andrea's voice is mellifluous ;) – mellifluous means: sound that is pleasing & musical to the ear. I've never said any one else's voice is mellifluous – only bestowing that honor upon our Andrea!!! :) ~ 💖

💖 ~ ❤ "Bésame Mucho" is Spanish meaning "Kiss me A lot" in English.
{{{ Kiss me (Bésame) A lot (Mucho) in English.}}} My fav love song!!! Like you, I'm back for Andrea's lovely voice – five days after I serendipitously found his version! ;) ❤

On Dec. 4, 2023, I was searching for the version by The Beatles' (with Pete Best, their 1st drummer), that I'd heard in the 1990s & was shocked to discover that lots of versions exist – & Andrea's!!! – & happily also saw all of the Spanish lyrics in English several times somewhere along my journey!!!

Google: English lyrics Besame Mucho – or something like that – good luck!!! :)

❤❤❤ Andrea's quintessential version stunned me ... stuns me ... & will forever stun me ... my fav version of "Bésame Mucho" forevermore. ~ 💖

Sung more than "El Rancho Grande" every night in every cantina by every mariachi band in the World? I don't think so.

What a beautiful song. My beautiful Mexican girlfriend used to sing this song to me so beautifully. Her father forced her to marry a Mexican guy. There was nothing I could do, short of asking her to abandon her parents. And I never saw her again. After all these years this song still moves me deeply for she sang this song to me one last time, the last time we saw each other.

Многие замечательные певцы поют эту "щемящую" душу песню, но, пожалуй, ни у кого нет в голосе столько мягкости, боли и нежности, как у Andrea Bocellli ❤ Благодарю прекрасного певца.
