Hark! the herald angels sing,
"Glory to the newborn King!
Peace on earth, and mercy mild,
God and sinners reconciled."
Joyful, all ye nations, rise,
Join the triumph of the skies,
With th' angelic host proclaim,
"Christ is born in Bethlehem."
Hark! the herald angels sing,
"Glory to the newborn King!

Hail! the heav'n-born Prince of peace!
Hail! the Son of Righteousness!
Light and life to all he brings,
Risen with healing in his wings
Mild he lays his glory by,
Born that man no more may die,
Born to raise the some of earth,
Born to give them second birth.
Hark! the herald angels sing,
"Glory to the newborn King!

Hark! the herald angels sing,
"Glory to the newborn King!
Peace on earth, and mercy mild,
God and sinners reconciled."
Joyful, all ye nations, rise,
Join the triumph of the skies,
With th' angelic host proclaim,
"Christ is born in Bethlehem."

Hark! the herald angels sing,
"Glory to the newborn King!

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Boney M.'s version of "Hark the Herald Angels Sing" is a joyful celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. It begins with the announcement of the arrival of the King and the declaration of peace on earth and mercy for sinners. The second verse praises Jesus Christ as the 'Prince of Peace' and the 'Son of Righteousness' who came to bring light and life to all. It further describes Jesus as one who came to heal and save humanity from death and sin. The angels proclaim that Christ was born in Bethlehem, and there is great joy that the Savior has come to earth.

The chorus repeats the proclamation that the angels made earlier concerning the glory that should be accorded the newborn King. The phrase "Glory to the newborn King!" is a celebratory shout that encapsulates the spirit of the season of Christmas. The lyrics express the joy of the season, the gift of forgiveness and salvation that Christ brought, and the hope of a new birth in Him.

Though it is a Christmas song but I never tired of listening to it. Hark! the Herald is a wonderful and memorable song. It returned me to the night where I was having my pre-Christmas dinner fronting the iconic building. Someone out there would share the same feeling with me. It was marked as the theme for the occasion.

AMAZING MUSIC. Unimaginable combination of soft sounds, with simple chord progressions. I am just dumbfounded with surprise at the genius of the composers who made such a wonderful version of "" hark the herald angels sing"". this is a music from the heart.
