1) Boss (born as Lichelle Laws, 1969-2014) was a female gangsta rapper whose debut album Born Gangstaz released in 1993 propelled her to one of the most successful female rappers of that time. Her name is sometimes spelled Bo$$.
Boss was first a duo, with Laws as Boss the rapper and her friend Irene Moore as her DJ, Dee. Laws and Moore relocated to Los Angeles after graduating high school. Laws was spotted by DJ Quik who stuck her on a track with AMG. Russell Simmons liked the track and promptly signed her to Def Jam West. Their debut album Born Gangstaz was released in 1993, and the single "Deeper" hit #1 on Billboard's Hot Rap Tracks. The next single "Recipe for a Hoe" also hit #1 on the Rap Tracks chart.
2) Boss is an American female rap artist / singer / videographer & director that was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. BOSS's introduction to music began at a very early age, being the niece of Motown writers and vocalists’ Brenda & Michael Sutton. Her aunt & uncle penned hits for Smokey Robinson ["There Will Come a Day (I'm Gonna Happen to You)"], Cheryl Lynn ("Shake It Up Tonight"), a young Michael Jackson ("Cinderella Stay Awhile") . Most recently, Texas rapper Scarface with special guests Jay-Z & Beanie Sigel sampled The Original track' "Sunrise" (yet another song that her uncle Michael Sutton (co-penned) for the Source Award-winning hip hop hit, "Guess Who's Back. These accomplishments by her relatives inspired her to push hard towards her dream of being an accomplished artist, video / music producer, videographer & music executive herself. BOSS spent a lot of time with her aunt and uncle in their recording studio surrounded by the sounds of music and the strict writing and vocal training sessions that were held by her aunt Brenda, always exposed & dreaming of one day working in the music industry. Thanks to her Aunt & Uncle, along with the help of GOD & her church choir BOSS received her foundation as a musical artist in her youth. During her teen years growing up in Los Angeles she became an intern for the nations 1st all rap radio station, KDAY.
In 1991/1992 BOSS worked as a personal assistant to Nate Dogg of Death Row. As she and Nate became close over the years, he also began to assist in BOSS in her vocal training. This unique training molded her ORIGINAL sultry sound into what it is today!
After trying to break into the music industry as a singer, writer and arranger she finally got the courage to take the reins and start learning to engineer her own recording sessions & produce tracks for her herself. In 1993, BOSS relocated to Texarkana and was given a job by her uncle Ray Bursey @ her family's radio broadcasting station KZRB 1035 FM. She took on a position in Sales/Marketing and Promotions but never let go of her dream to produce and become an artist herself. She became one of the stations top radio personalities as a street scene reporter. After some time behind a desk she became board and decided it was time to try her hand once again at her first love, which was to actually be an artist herself. Only now there was a big difference, she had the knowledge of executive assistance, radio, promotions, marketing, public relations, publishing and music production under her belt.
Taking all of the moving capitol she had accumulated during her time at the family station and invested in her own Mass Media & Marketing Company (Bossy Inc.) Slowly but surely, she began to promote, produce and represent clients outside of her family's radio station, which gave her more flexibility when it came to the other Artists. She also used this gateway to introduce her own style of artistry to the world.
She then ventured deeper into the south to Houston, Texas. It was there that she met her now longtime friend Luscious Ice, one of the DJ's for Houston's 99.7 The Boxx, who in turn introduced her to her mentor/ close friend, Big H.A.W.K. of The Original Screwed Up Click (R.I.P.) who took BOSS under his wing as his Exec. Assist., taught her the one of a kind Houston, Texas Style of industry grind and introduced her to all of Houston's elite in the music industry. Wes Monroe (Momma Wes) of UGK Records also became her mentor and began to teach BOSS the industry game as she knew it. This tactic led to the business union of her student BOSS & her son Chad " Pimp C " Butler of UGK. With their assistance & Big H.A.W.K.'S blessing, Boss began to thrive as a force to be reckoned with as far as female rap artists are concerned. BOSS has a huge passion for acting and I love being in front of the camera. She is currently auditioning for movie roles, commercials & being booked for modeling photo shoots.
"Image and self- acceptance is something that I struggled with as a teen. Lucky enough, I was surrounded by people who have given me great advice to better myself inside & out! My goal is to represent as a woman who has also experienced these concerns as a youth and reach out to young people who are trying to cope with self -love. Each day I remain excited about my choice to expand my horizons, work with new people and most of all to see where my road in the industry will lead to." - BOSS

Catch A Bad One
Boss Lyrics

Any motherfucker that step up fuck around and catch a bad one;
Bo$$ is in the house! Slaughterhouse, do this shit!
Prepare your motherfuckin selves, cause the shit is comin!
It's a motherfuckin, STORM! So Bo$$, and Dee, fuck that shit!
[Dee]
I got you motherfuckers scared, in the midst of a dead heat
Back the fuck up, or get played like Monopoly
The Dee was the shit, the minute my father straight bust his nut
He created a mad bitch, and now it's for the nigga to pitch a bitch
Cause I was known to be that misfit
Or the black sheep, of the family
Sent to reform school, since my parents couldn't handle me
I did nothin but.. dirt
While all of my homies played worse
I was hittin niggaz, where it hurts
In the back of they dome, I had a nickel-plated chrome aimin
I didn't have no home trainin
But back to the drawing board
Back in ninety-three, when I was released out the mental ward
For playin games with helter skelter
That's how his ass got, done - he caught a bad one
[Chorus]
[Bo$$]
The only shit I ever had a lot of in my life was some bank moves
I needed loot so I said fuck it, and started pullin gank moves
I ain't the type you want to trust or turn your back towards
So never slip you stupid bitch (or I'm gettin yours)
Schemin with my chrome, boy
The Bo$$ got an AK, aimin like a temp at your dome boy
So fuck a homeboy, we was never down fool
{We blazed blunts!} But that don't mean we fuckin cool
See I was taught at an early age it pays to get a gauge
In the streets, they try to play a nigga weak
I'm buckin 'em down with two shots
And fuck your road dawgs, got enough bullets for the whole block
And now the city bitch is pretty pissed, rollin in my Lincoln
Leavin blood scattered when I'm creepin (when I'm creepin)
Now everybody's scared - I fill 'em full of lead
Bullet wounds to head once I buck 'em dead
[Chorus]
[Dee]
Two to the head, that's exactly what you get
Whenever you fuckin with a lunatic
I'm out to be gettin deep down in your shit
See my sisters are easily tempered
Therefore I don't be givin a fuck
Anything that moves I'm buckin 'em down
[Bo$$]
You better duck duck down from the bullet
Real G's fingers on the trigger, and still afraid to pull it
Look around, bitches on a underground level
Listen to my cut as the buckshot settle
[Dee]
And the blow to the dome buck buck was the sound of my nine
Ringin out, then I draw them in the slaughterhouse
To get slaughtered, blow 'em out the water
Real quick in a hurry, cause niggaz be actin scurry
[Bo$$]
In my hood, wish you would, pull some punk shit
Bitches up to no good, niggaz better duck quick
Run up if they come, gettin paid by the gun
You slept around, you fucked around - you caught a bad one
[Chorus]
The song "Catch a Bad One" by Bo$$ starts with the sound of gunshots and the lyrics, "AK 47, Mossberg - buck buck from the glock! Any motherfucker that step up fuck around and catch a bad one." She then declares her presence and warns her opponents to prepare themselves for the coming conflict. In the first verse, Dee describes herself as a troublemaker from a young age who was sent to reform school because of her behavior. She takes pleasure in inflicting pain on others and delights in the fear she creates. In the chorus, they both celebrate their power and success in defeating their enemies.
The second verse, Bo$$ describes herself as someone who resorts to violent crimes because she needs money. She warns her rivals never to let their guard down and threatens to attack them when they least expect it. She is not loyal to anyone but herself and is willing to attack her former friends if necessary. In the chorus, they both repeat that those who cross them will "catch a bad one."
