Im calling to the boys of the radio show
THought i was a child then, but i grow
So you trying duke your way
And fill it up with thousands of call it stones
Thought I was a child then, but I grow
Baby I grow...
I′m looking out for ghost 11
I crawled out in the ghost 11, I grow.
Baby I grow.
...
The lyrics of "Ghost 11" by Boy & Bear speak to the idea of personal growth and how we look back at the past through a different lens as we mature. The opening line includes the phrase "somebody else to save the day," indicating a sense of helplessness or inadequacy. The singer then turns to the radio show, suggesting a yearning for guidance or support. The repeated phrase "thought I was a child then, but I grow" highlights the theme of growth and serves as a reminder that our past selves may not reflect who we are now.
The introduction of Ghost 11 adds an eerie element to the song, as the singer becomes fixated on this apparition. Ghost 11 appears to represent a part of the singer's past that they are trying to reconcile with their present self. By the end of the song, the singer has come to accept their growth and acknowledges that they have moved on from the person they used to be.
Overall, "Ghost 11" is a contemplative song about personal growth and how our relationship with our past selves evolves over time.
