Boy Hits Car Lyrics

I ponder if her cries can stop the star from flight
The fall wind blows
Off the ocean
As it whist by the tips of trees
Who were silent
Just like I am
At the sight of their dying leaves
From the first time we have heard
Realizing what I had
Guess I'll never get it back
Oh-oh
And look at how windswept my life's become
Since you left
Your nowhere but my spinning head
She use to walk
Beside the pier
As the break water disabled
The coming swirls
So I run there
To find lover all strewn all about
And I can't believe
I let you go
Laying here sad and alone
Guess you left
To go find peace
Are you happier without me?
And look at how windswept my life's become
Since you left
You're nowhere but my spinning head
No one seems to understand
How your scent blows off the ocean
I can't believe I let you go
Laying here so sad and all
A-alone
A alone
All the thing I cannot change
Alone
All the things that trouble me
A
All the times we find who we are
Alone
All the things I didn't see
A
And the only thing I cannot
Alone
How the blowing wind survived
A
Because you're so full of
Alone
So why you steal my wave!
So remember
We had good times
And I never forget your lies
So does our love
And the sea
Feeling us all torn and broken
Oh-oh
And look at how windswept my life's become
Since you left
You're nowhere but my spinning head
No one seems to understand
But your scent blows off the ocean
I can't believe I let you go
Laying here so dal and alone
Alone
In "Windswept" by Boy Hits Car, the singer reflects on a lost love as they contemplate the transient nature of life. They step outside of the "bitter conflict of life" and wonder if their former partner's cries could stop the stars from flying. The fall wind blows off the ocean and whistles by the silent trees and dying leaves, matching the singer's somber mood. The singer has just returned from a time when they realized what they had with their former lover and felt unable to get it back. They now see their life as windswept since their lover has left them, with the person only existing in their spinning head.
The singer remembers their former lover's walks by the pier and their scent blowing off the ocean. They wonder if their lover is happier without them and regret letting them go. They feel alone with all their troubles, contemplating the things they cannot change and the missed opportunities. The song ends with the singer acknowledging the good times they had with their former lover but not forgetting their lies. The sea and wind represent an ongoing feeling of being "torn and broken" after the end of the relationship.

I had a privilege to see these guys live so many years ago, one of my favorite bands even to date. The one thing I never understood was why no one ever gave them a chance or even worse heard of them. Oh well, BHC rules and will always live on in my books! <3

This song reminds me so much of Incubus. The style of Cregg Rondell's voice matches Brandon's melodic tones. This is a more laid back tune from BHC and I dig it. Can't wait to hear their new stuff.
