Boyd Rice & Friends Lyrics

When you're down
On your knees
You must say
Please

When you have
The upper hand
Feel free to
Squeeze

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Wolf Pact by Boyd Rice & Friends may seem simple on the surface but they convey the message of power dynamics that exist within human relationships. The first two lines of the song refer to being in a position of weakness where one must show a degree of politeness and submission to the person holding the power. However, the next two lines suggest that the person with power can take advantage of that power and show no mercy to the person underneath them. The song encapsulates the notion of survival of the fittest and the cutthroat nature of society; where those at the top take what they want, and those at the bottom are left to fend for themselves. Additionally, the title itself "Wolf Pact" implies the idea of a pack of wolves who work together to survive in the wild, but who also display dominance over weaker members of their group.
