She had romantic feelings for another woman.

But telling her family, they might snap
She was afraid that her family would react negatively if she told them about her feelings.

She felt trapped and unable to express herself to others.

He was mentally struggling, even without his family's knowledge of his sexual orientation.

But it escalated if he couldn't keep a straight face
It was harder for him to hide his true feelings from his family as time went on.

He was unsure of what would happen first, whether he would be able to maintain his facade or if his family would discover the truth.

Online it was everything he wanted
He was able to freely express himself online.

But real life wouldn't let him be as honest
He couldn't be as open about his true identity in his everyday life.

It would just bring violence his way
He anticipated harm from others if he were to reveal his sexuality.

Like 'How do you like this attention you special snowflake?'
He expected to be belittled and mocked by others.

They had problems at home and had to bend the feelings
His family had their own issues and were not accepting of progressive views.

And had to learn how to develop a sense of empathy
They had to learn to understand and relate to his struggles.

But knowing that didn't make it any easier
It was still challenging for him to confront his family.

All he could do was breathe
He could only keep calm and try to manage his emotions.

Step back on the situation
He needed to take a step back and think logically about the situation.

No it's not a movie
This wasn't a fictional story, it was his reality.

It's not fiction
His struggles were not made up, they were real.

Some people kick you down just because you're different
Some people will treat you negatively because of your differences.

Be rational
He needed to approach the situation logically and with reason.

Unless you think they won't attack at all
He needed to be careful when confronting his family.

He needed to keep his emotions and actions in check and be rational.

He had the power to choose who he surrounds himself with.

And I CAN choose my family
He could choose how close he was to his family and how much he opened up to them.

If they won't accept me
If his family was not accepting of his identity.

Other people who accept and love him will be there for him.

Everything will work out in the end.
