Can You Stand The Rain

I know that I can count on you
When that's not possible
Tell me can you weather the storm
Cause I need somebody who will stand by me
Through the good times and bad
She will always, always be right there
Sunny days
Tell me
Can you stand the rain
Storms will come
This we know for sure
Can you stand the rain
Love unconditional
I'm not asking this of you
We've got to make it last
I'll do whatever needs to be done
Cause I need somebody who will stand by me
Through the good times and bad times
She will always, always be right there
Sunny days
Everybody loves them
Tell me
Can you stand the rain
Storms will come
This we know for sure
Can you stand the rain
Can you stand the rain
Can you stand the rain
Can you stand the rain
Can you stand the rain
No pressure
No pressure from me baby
Cause I want you
And I need you
And I love you
Will you be there for me?
Can you stand the rain?
Can you stand the rain?
Can you stand the rain?
Can you stand the rain?
Can you stand the rain?
Can you stand the rain?
The lyrics to Boyz II Men's song Can You Stand The Rain is a plea for unconditional love and support. The song starts by acknowledging that everyone loves sunny days, but the real test of a relationship is whether one can stand the storm. The storm, in this case, refers to the ups and downs of life, which are inevitable. The question asked in the chorus is whether the person they are singing to can stand by them through the storms of life.
The verse then goes on to emphasize the need for someone who will stand by them through thick and thin, through the good times and the bad. The singer recognizes that love isn't always easy, but it is essential to make it last. The singer calls for unconditional love, not because they are entitled to it but because they are willing to reciprocate. The chorus is repeated again and again, emphasizing the importance of standing by someone when the going gets tough.
The song is overall a beautiful declaration of love and the need for someone to stand by your side, no matter what. It emphasizes the importance of support, especially during difficult times. It reminds us that love is not just about good times but standing by someone when things get tough.
