The Birth Of Christ

On a cold December night just like this
For they knew what was going to happen
Mary would give birth to the prince of peace
Our Lord
From the manjor what they saw in the distance
Was a misty silloutte of three kings
Knowing he would soon be called the king of kings
Our Lord
On Christmas day
They saw a star in the east and followed it
On Christmas day
That marked the birth place of our Lord and Savior
Jesus Christ
All free from sin
Here to give us a chance at everlasting life again
So the world
So cold you better let him in
To your heart, yeah
The pure sight of the blessed child was full of beauty
As they looked upon the one who would save our world
To their knees they dropped and started to worship
Giving thanks to God above for the prince of peace
Our Lord
No one knew back then that on that evening
That the miracle of miracles came true
That a God above would come down from heaven
In the form of a child
That would set us free
Our Lord
The lyrics to Boyz II Men's song "The Birth Of Christ" are a description of the events surrounding the birth of Jesus Christ. The song begins by chronicling the journey of the three wise men who traveled over hills and mountains on a cold December night, knowing that Mary was about to give birth to the "prince of peace." The men saw a misty silhouette of three kings from afar, bringing precious jewels to Jesus who they knew would soon be called the "king of kings." The lyrics paint a picture of the humble beginnings of Jesus' birth, which later gives rise to the powerful figure who becomes the savior.
The second verse goes on to describe the day of Jesus' birth, marked by a star in the east that the three wise men followed to the birthplace of Jesus Christ. The song emphasizes that Jesus came to the world to relieve us from our sins and provide us with a chance at everlasting life. The message is one of inclusion, urging listeners to let Jesus into their hearts and to seek salvation through his divine grace.
The final verse focuses on the power and beauty of the baby Jesus, who would eventually grow into an adult and take on the sins of the world. The lyrics express the awe and reverence felt by those who witnessed this miracle, dropping to their knees and worshiping God for the gift of the "prince of peace." The song's message is clear: even today, we can find comfort and solace in the story of Jesus' birth, which offers hope and salvation to all who believe.
