Turcotte opened his website in 2002 with the intention of producing "open source music". His self-produced single, Brad Sucks One, included the audio source files used to create the finished files, and later he posted these source files to his website along with the MP3s.
Turcotte waives all rights to his songs, essentially making them public domain. This total freedom allows him to promote his music through sites such as Magnatune and ccMixter, as well as Myspace and Podsafe. Since he was one of the first to make this decision, he also received free publicity through blogs and interviews in free culture magazines. His first full CD, I Don't Know What I'm Doing, was released both through Magnatune and a limited "professional" printing from his own website.
Turcotte also runs the website stripcreator.com , which allows participants to create their own talking-head webcomics. He is also the creator of in4mador. He is also listed on Sellaband, a website where artists co-ordinate raising money to record an album.

Sick as a Dog
Brad Sucks Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Covered up and down with cement
Sayin' hello on the down low
Religions and guns and ammo
In my mind I made my mind up
I don't mean to take your time up
In my heart I know the real trick
Sick as a dog
Don't get me wrong
But I'm sick as a dog
Got a fever she believe her
Medicine makes people evil
Taking lessons smith and wesson
Messin' up with people's heads and
When my heart takes a turn to dress yourself the worst
Maybe I can find a friend that don't know exactly where it hurts
But I just try try try to be the best animal I can
Baby doll enemies and birds and bees and then I turn back again
And I'm sick
as a dog
The lyrics of Brad Sucks's song "Sick as a Dog" are cryptic and seem to be open to interpretation. The opening lines describe someone who has been battered and covered with cement, possibly alluding to the hardships and abuse they have gone through in life. The next line, "Sayin' hello on the down low," hints at a situation where the person is trying to maintain a low profile and avoid drawing attention to themselves. The last line of this verse, "Religions and guns and ammo," suggests a world filled with conflict and violence.
The chorus speaks of the turmoil the singer is going through - he has made his mind up about something but is unsure if he should voice it, he knows that the person he is in love with is not good for him but he is still drawn to her. The repetition of "Sick as a dog" emphasizes the intensity of these conflicting emotions. The second verse continues with the theme of violence and manipulation, with references to the evils of medication and guns. The lines "When my heart takes a turn to dress yourself the worst / Maybe I can find a friend that don't know exactly where it hurts" suggest that the singer is struggling with his own emotions and doubts, and is looking for someone who can relate to him without judgment.
Overall, the song can be interpreted as a commentary on the harsh realities of life in a violent and unstable world, and the emotional toll it can take on individuals. The lyrics are deliberately cryptic, and open to various interpretations depending on the listener's perspective.
