Braids Lyrics

Mad with pain
Two thinks about
Back in the day
Three says aloud
I am regret
Saying aloud
I am a mess
There were days
When we would walk
In a dream
There were days
We'd laugh a lot
In a dream
Dreaming sorrows
One has a mouth
A mouth filled with doubt
I'm upset
She's not here
Two arms and legs
Heavy and weighed
So scared of
If Three can run
Four wants to cry
Left to the side
Wondering if
She'll persist
At home I try
To wrestle my mind
I'm upset
With myself
Dreaming sorrows
Follow them all the way down
Away soon
See them arrive
They're away soon
These lyrics of Braids's song Together, reflect on the emotions experienced when in a state of pain, regret, and doubt. The first verse starts with One being mad, possibly angry at someone or something that caused pain. Two, on the other hand, thinks about the past, reminiscing about the good old days when things were better. Three vocalizes their regret, confessing that they are a mess. The chorus describes the days when they were happy, describing them as days spent in a dream, where they laughed a lot. The line "Dreaming sorrows" suggests that they were not genuinely happy but were avoiding facing their problems by dreaming their sorrows away.
In the second verse, One has a mouth full of doubt, indicating that they are not sure of themselves, which makes them upset. Two, still yearning for the past, wishes for someone who is no longer here. Three feels heavy and weighed down and is scared of something they are not sure of. Four feels left out, wondering if they will be able to persist through whatever challenges they are facing. The line "At home I try to wrestle my mind" suggests that they are struggling with their thoughts and possibly their mental health. The lyrics describe a group of people going through a challenging moment in their lives, trying to figure out how to deal with their problems.
