Late Nite Talk Shows are just the best! I love ALL of them. Every host has such a distinct perspective and opinion on current events, as well as their own style of laugh out loud humor.

Then you have their celebrity guests, who tell the most interesting stories and give hilarious anecdotes for the Hosts to play with. And it all feels so organic and natural, and not ever written or rehearsed.

I also appreciate the similar-yet-distinct set design of Late Nite television. The “window” overlooking the static silhouette of the city…the cozy couch positioned perfectly next to the host’s desk. The show-branded coffee mugs topped off with room temperature water.

Oh gosh! I almost forgot to praise the House Band! Super talented musicians across the board, who always find new and interesting ways of performing a mix of acid-jazz-fusion and late 80s sitcom-rock with a light touch of high energy elevator music, that makes me feel like I’m tapping my feet in a Dentist’s waiting room. I just can’t get enough!

And I know I’m not the only one, amiright?!?!

In my insignificant opinion, he tries too hard to be seen as better than he is, and I don’t mean it in a mean way, he wants to impress, and to me it just comes off as fake. Fred's bit is delicate, esoteric, respects & trusts the audience's intelligence, doesn't instruct them how to feel or react, elegant, risky, and assured. I watched his special that included drums and didn't like it that much. Just wasn't for me. But I thought this was really cool and creative and if Fred didn't include that talking over here and dove in with some actual more polished lyrics, it would have been funnier. Like, do a spoof on the dumb lyrics in punk too. Like the part where he talks about the parents in the ska song was funny. Lean into that more. But I'm not a professional comedian, these are only subjective opinions of what I find funny.

yea totally, so many deep cuts here…like……The Ramones.
And the way he is able to…strum…..power chords….in standard tuning…that are distinct to each era….I mean, wow what a talent!

The experience of listening to Fred shred through punk/alt music history…was like being transported back to….the supermarket where I was food shopping last Tuesday. Amazing stuff!

It was also really cool to see Jimmy so invested in Fred’s punk rock medley. It’s so rare to see Jimmy impressed, as he can be a tough critic! Very cool!

I met Fred in Valparaiso Indiana when he and band Trench Mouth came to our tiny little punk rock scene and and blew it TF up!!! Great guy, he hung out after the show and kicked it with all us little punk rock kids!!
