Don't say it's time for us to quit
Don't say goodbye, this can't be it
Baby, please, 'cause it's not worth it
Baby, we wanted too much to just walk out on each other
I just, I just think we really need to think about it before we just leave
You know, it's just not worth it
It's not worth the waiting
It's not worth it to walk away
It's not worth it, think about it
You came into my life
And it's so funny how you made everything right
And now you're sayin' to me something ain't right
What did I do? Did I hurt you?
Baby, can you tell me how to dry your eyes?
But let me say, I never meant to make you cry
If anything, I meant to be right by your side
How did I go wrong?
When my love is strong and all it ever wanted was you
If I can ease the pain
Whatever it takes to, that is what I'll do
Why do you feel this way?
Baby, you don't have to, 'cause I am here for you ('cause I am here)
Don't tell me you want out of this
Don't say it's time for us to quit
Don't say goodbye, this can't be it
Baby, please, 'cause it's not worth it
Don't tell me you want out of this
Don't say it's time for us to quit
Don't say goodbye, this can't be it (this can't be it)
Baby, please, 'cause it's not worth it
You mean the world to me
And all I do is try to give you all of me
I never do anything that wouldn't be pleasing to you
I never knew that you were hurting
And I'll take the blame for anything that I've done
That has caused you pain
I never meant to hurt you in any way
So this day, I wanna say
Baby, please forgive me
If I can ease your pain (I would do it, babe)
Whatever it takes to, that is what I'll do
(I'll do whatever you want me to)
Why do you feel this way?
Baby, you don't have to, 'cause I am here for you ('cause I am here for you)
Don't tell me you want out of this (don't you go nowhere)
Don't say it's time for us to quit (don't you say, "Just wanna be alone")
Don't say goodbye, this can't be it (it's not the time for us, right now)
Baby, please, 'cause it's not worth it (it's not worth me)
Don't tell me you want out of this (losing you)
Don't say it's time for us to quit (oh, I love you, baby)
Don't say goodbye, this can't be it (please, yeah, yeah)
Baby, please, 'cause it's not worth it
Don't wanna see you this way
What must I do to make it okay? (To make it all brand new)
Let me take the pain away (let me take it all away)
Anything for you, 'cause, baby, I love you ('cause I'm in love)
Don't wanna see you this way
What must I do to make it okay? ('cause I will do)
Let me take (or you) the pain away
Anything for you, 'cause, baby, I love you
('Cause, baby, I'm so in love with you)
Don't tell me you want out of this
Don't say it's time for us to quit
Don't say goodbye, this can't be it (don't you say goodbye to me)
Baby, please, 'cause it's not worth it
(It's not even worth this conversation right now)
Don't tell me you want out of this (don't you play with me)
Don't say it's time for us to quit ('cause I've been here for too long)
Don't say goodbye, this can't be it
(That's why this can't be it, it's not worth it)
Baby, please, 'cause it's not worth it
Worth it, worth it
Worth it, whoa-whoa-whoa
It's not over
Don't tell me you want out of this
Don't say it's time for us to quit
Don't say goodbye, this can't be it (can't be it)
Baby, please, 'cause it's not worth it
You ain't going nowhere
The lyrics of the song "It's Not Worth It" by Brandy express the desperation of a lover who is trying to save their relationship from falling apart. The song is a plea to their partner to not give up on their love and find the strength to continue together. Brandy asks her love not to talk about breaking up, not to say goodbye and not to give up on their love, because in her eyes it's not worth it. The opening verses demonstrate her confusion about what's going wrong and how her partner had once made everything right in her life. She is now crying out to them, trying to understand what is causing these feelings of doubt and how she can try to ease their pain. Brandy emphasizes that she never intends to hurt her partner, and she'll do whatever it takes to make things right again.
As the song progresses, the lover expresses frustration at the stubbornness of their partner who is unwilling to share their true feelings. Brandy emphasizes how much her partner means to her and how she always tries to please them. She expresses remorse for any action that may have caused pain, and she seeks forgiveness. She tries to show how much she loves them and how important they are to her by taking responsibility for the situation and offering to do all she can to repair the relationship.
The song's main hook is a repeated plea to the partner to not give up on their relationship, emphasizing that their love is worth fighting for. The song is a beautiful expression of how love can be complex and require compromise, understanding and forgiveness to make it work.
