Ten minutes ago I saw you
I looked up when you came through the door
My head started reeling
You gave me the feeling
The room had no ceiling or floor
Ten minutes ago I met you
And we murmured our how-do-you-do's
And fling out my arms and to sing out the news
I have found her, she's an angel
With the dust of the stars in her eyes
We are dancing, we are flying
And she's me back to the skies
In the arms of my love i'm flying
Over mountain and meadow and glen
And I like it so well, that for all I can tell
I may never come down again
I may never come down to earth again.
Brandy:
Ten minutes ago I met you
And we murmured our how-do-you-do's
I wanted to ring out the bells
And fling out my arms and to sing out the news
Paolo Montalban:
I have found her
Brandy:
I have found him
Brandy & Paolo Montalban:
In the arms of my love I'm flying
Over mountain and meadow and glen
And I like it so well
That for all I can tell
I may never come down again
I may never come down to earth again
"Ten Minutes Ago" is a duet from Rodgers and Hammerstein's musical "Cinderella" and has been performed by actors in various adaptations of the story. The song chronicles the moment when the Prince and Cinderella first meet and immediately feel a connection. The lyrics describe the feeling of being instantly swept away by someone's presence and the possibility of being taken to new heights with them. The references to flying and being lifted up suggest a sense of euphoria and a desire to escape the mundane. The repeated lines from both singers of "I have found her" and "I have found him" signify that they have finally found the one they have been searching for.
The song's simplicity and romanticism can be appealing to audiences of all ages, and the lyrics, while straightforward, capture the feeling of falling in love. The use of the word "angel" portrays the characters as almost supernatural, adding to the fairy tale-like quality of the scene. The line "With the dust of the stars in her eyes" implies that the woman is otherworldly, adding to the sense of wonder and magic in the lyrics.

This is hands down the BEST version of this song. There is so much energy, passion, fun, joy, in this song. Their voices, their chemistry, the orchestra, the way it all moves together... the energy of this version of this song is off the charts.
