Remember that you told me you were there for me
Remember that you told me you can't do without
Me but it seems like word of mouth
Cause I'm giving everything I got in love
And everything your giving just ain't enough for me
No no I'm to the point where I wish that I
(Didn't love you)
And I wish that I didn't care
(Didn't care at all)
Why is that I can't think bout nobody but you
If I had one wish left
Oh I would wish your love away
Wish your love away
Wish your love away
Remember that you told me I was pretty
Remember that you told me I was beautiful
Remember that you told me you was ready
And all them other bitches you can do without
And why do I feel you just the same
And boy I'm tired of playing games with you
And I'm to the point that I
Boy I wish that I didn't love you
(Didn't love you)
And I wish that I didn't care
(Didn't care at all)
Why is that I can't think bout nobody but you
If I had one wish left
Oh I would wish your love away
Wish your love away
Wish your love away
I wish that
There was no more sleepless nights for me
(And I wish that)
You can look inside my heart and see
How I'm feeling baby
Or maybe you just don't give a dam
Could I be foolish to give a dam baby
'Cause I'm to the point where I
Boy I wish that I didn't love you
(Didn't love you)
And I wish that I didn't care
(Didn't care at all)
Why is that I can't think bout nobody but you
If I had one wish left
Oh I would wish your love away
Wish your love away
Wish your love away
Boy I wish that I didn't love you
(Didn't love you)
And I wish that I didn't care
(Didn't care at all)
Why is that I can't think bout nobody but you
If I had one wish left
Oh I would wish your love away
I would wish your love away
Boy I wish that I didn't love you
(Didn't love you)
And I wish that I didn't care
(Didn't care at all)
Why is that I can't think bout nobody but you
If I had one wish left
Oh I would wish your love away
The lyrics of Brandy's song "Wish Your Love Away" tell a story of a woman who is fed up with her lover's false promises and lack of effort in their relationship. She recalls all the times he told her he loved her, was ready for a serious commitment, and would do anything for her, yet his actions do not match his words. She feels stuck in a situation where she loves and cares for him deeply, but his behavior is causing her frustration and sleepless nights. The chorus reveals her deepest feelings, as she wishes that she didn't love him or care about him anymore, and that his love would just disappear from her life.
The song portrays a relatable situation, where someone falls in love with all their heart, but their partner fails to reciprocate the same amount of love, respect, and commitment. The lyrics show that the woman is aware of her value and worth, and she is not willing to settle for less. She longs for a genuine connection and real emotions, not just empty words and promises. The song conveys a bittersweet feeling, where the singer is torn between her love and her desire for something better. In the end, she admits that she wishes her love away, and the listener can feel her pain and disappointment through the melancholic melody and emotional vocals.
