Live For Today
Breaking Point Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
You walked away
Never had a chance to tell you just how I felt
So we carried lies upon our minds
I could never find it to say goodbye....Goodbye..
All that I desire is that we leave here today
All that I require is that we live for today
So we carried on our own alone
You didn't even stop to question
What was, it's gone
I remember your eyes,
It's been so long
I can find the strength to carry on
Carry on,
Carry on
All that I desire is that we leave here today
All that I require is that we live for today
And I tried to erase you
But I'm left with a permanent stain
And it didn't even faze you
You know, all wounds heal in time, but scars remain
All that I desire is that we leave here today
All that I require is that we live for today
All that I desire is that we leave here today
Now we're together, it's now or never
We can only live for today
The lyrics of Breaking Point's song "Live For Today" express regret about a lost relationship and the desire to make amends. The singer laments that they were not able to express their feelings before the relationship ended, and they were left carrying "lies upon our minds." The pain of the breakup is evident in the lines "And I tried to erase you, but I'm left with a permanent stain / And it didn't even faze you, you know, all wounds heal in time, but scars remain." However, despite the hurt, the singer wants to move forward and live in the present. The line "We can only live for today" expresses the idea that dwelling on the past is futile and that the only thing that matters is the moment in which we are living.
The overall message of the song is one of hope and renewal. The singer acknowledges the pain of the past but chooses to focus on the present and the future. The repetition of the phrase "All that I desire is that we live for today" emphasizes the importance of living in the moment and enjoying life to the fullest. The song encourages us to let go of the past, forgive ourselves, and embrace the present.

I could never find it to say goodbye....Goodbye..
I couldn't find the words to bid farewell
All that I desire is that we leave here today
I want us to move on from the past

We continued with our lives separately
You didn't even stop to question
You didn't bother to ask

I remember your eyes,
I recall your gaze
It's been so long

Mad respect to Bullet! They haven't sold out and are still staying true to their metal roots!

I love this album. It's actually my favourite one. I had heard of and known a few of their songs in the past. But I went through some rough stuff and came across a few songs on temper temper that really grabbed me and felt like they were talking about my life. Haven't ever let go of the band since and they're now one of my all time favourite bands. Would make me so freaking happy to see them live. Much love from New Zealand

It took me quite a while to like Temper Temper, but eventually I realised that Bullet are still going in the right direction. The songs off this album might be different, but are very unique. Honestly I can't say the same for A7X's Hail to the King because it was essentially a cover album in my eyes. It's only my 2 cents' worth.

Was skeptical about buying this album at first, but I listened to the whole thing last night and fell in love with it. I don't see why people are hating it, but that's just me. They still sound like Bullet, because they still /are/ Bullet. Their name didn't change, so why would some of youse say that they changed and aren't the same band anymore? Bands go through changes and most of them are for the better, while others are for growth in general. Oli Sykes from Bring Me The Horizon is a great example of this. A lot of people didn't like their single "Drown" when it first came out. Oli changed his vocal style so that he didn't further damage his vocal cords. He did a change for himself and got a lot of shit for it, but I'm honestly proud of him. It takes guts sometimes to put your own personal health above sound when it comes to this type of career. I'm also proud of Matt. He got that surgery to help with his vocals, and he /still/ sounds great! I will admit that it took me a little while to get used to his short hair, but I still enjoyed their somewhat new sound. Bullet for my Valentine will always be my favourite metalcore band and will continue to be hold that spot until I either die or if I sadly grow to not enjoy this genre anymore. If that does happen, then so be it. One cannot change without growing, and one cannot grow without changing.
