Breaking Point Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
It went in a blaze
I felt so helpless, being so far away
The skeleton frame, how it's holding my memories
Cause God only knows now, just what's ahead of me
Cause everything's been taken from me now, I don't believe it
When everything that you had just sweeps aside
No words can describe it
There was nothing to save
The ashes have dried now
They have all been blown away
I close my eyes, and try to remember when
'Cause pictures in my head, they're all I have of them
Don't take me now, I don't want to leave this place [2x]
Don't take me now, just let me fly
The lyrics “Phoenix” by Breaking Point convey a theme of loss and grief. The song speaks of a moment where everything was destroyed in a blaze, leaving behind only ashes as the remnants of what once was. The singer reveals feelings of helplessness as they were far away and could not do anything to stop what was happening. The lyrics indicate that the ashes were blown away, and nothing could save what was lost. The singer remembers those they’ve lost through pictures in their head, indicating that this loss has left a profound impact on their life.
Furthermore, the lyrics describe the difficult process of moving forward after such a significant loss. The singer acknowledges that everything has been taken from them, and they are struggling to believe it. However, they find strength in the idea of rising like a phoenix to fly. The phoenix is a mythical bird that is reborn from its ashes, symbolizing renewal and resilience. The singer hopes to embody the phoenix’s strength to overcome their loss and rise from the ashes of their former life.
In conclusion, “Phoenix” is a poignant song that speaks to the human experience of loss and the struggle to move forward in the face of tragedy. The lyrics highlight the importance of remembering those we’ve lost while also finding the strength to move forward and rebuild our lives.
