1/ According to Songfacts, Breathe hailed from Hampshire, England, where the original five members all grew up and even went to school together at Yateley School. Their first group was larger, six-person band called Catch-22, after the famed novel by Joseph Heller. Theyrimmed down to a quartet to record the album All That Jazz in 1987. This contained their two best-known hits, "How Can I Fall?" and "Hands to Heaven". The latter charted on the Billboard Hot 100 at #2 in 1988, and at #4 in the UK. Bassist Micheal Delahunty left the group in 1989 and the remaining three followed "All that Jazz" with the lesser known "Peace of Mind" in early 1990.
Their sound was a combination of light jazz with some pop and soul, somewhat reminiscent of Air Supply or Rick Astley. However, the success was shortlived, and by 1990 they had disbanded.

breathe is Doug DuVall and Noel "NTRAIN" Keith. They are a forward thinking eletronic music production/DJ team who shares the common interest in producing, playing, and listening to quality music that must have a groove, soul, and depth. They won't pigeon hole themselves in one genre or style of music and have produced some of the following styles but not limited to: house, deep house, funky house, progressive house, breaks, hip-hop, abstract, experimental, and downtempo. Don't Tell Me Lies
Breathe Lyrics

Over my naivety is this how I should feel?
Burning with my own desire, visions that all seem so clear
Now I see this in your eyes, they'll never ever be another one
Don't tell me lies
Don't tell me lies
Looking back I realize it's always been this way
We must note what has gone and never turn away
Now I see this in your eyes, they'll never ever be another one
Don't tell me lies
Don't tell me lies
Don't tell me lies
Broken loose from indecision
Now I'm alright on my own
Still I wait from your confession
I guess I'm alright on my own
Don't tell me lies
Don't tell me lies
Don't, don't, don't tell me,
Don't, don't, don't tell me
Don't tell me lies
The lyrics of the song "Don't Tell Me Lies" by Breathe explore the theme of betrayal and heartbreak. The singer in the song is addressing someone who they thought was genuine, but now they realize that every move that person made before was just a facade. The singer wonders if they were naive to believe in the relationship and questions their own feelings. They are burning with desire, but the visions now seem clouded, as they see the truth in the other person's eyes - that there will never be another one for them. The chorus is a plea for honesty and transparency, with the singer warning the other person not to deceive them any longer.
As the song progresses, the singer looks back and realizes that the signs were always there, but they chose to ignore them. They remind themselves to acknowledge what has happened and move forward with clarity rather than denial. The release of desire empowers the singer, and they begin to feel like they can move on, but they still wait for the other person's confession. The repeated chorus is a forceful reminder to the other person that lies are not acceptable and that they should not try to deceive the singer any longer.
Overall, the lyrics showcase the emotional journey of someone who has been betrayed, but who chooses to confront the deception and move on. The song has a catchy rhythm and a strong melody, which adds to its emotive impact.
