1/ According to Songfacts, Breathe hailed from Hampshire, England, where the original five members all grew up and even went to school together at Yateley School. Their first group was larger, six-person band called Catch-22, after the famed novel by Joseph Heller. Theyrimmed down to a quartet to record the album All That Jazz in 1987. This contained their two best-known hits, "How Can I Fall?" and "Hands to Heaven". The latter charted on the Billboard Hot 100 at #2 in 1988, and at #4 in the UK. Bassist Micheal Delahunty left the group in 1989 and the remaining three followed "All that Jazz" with the lesser known "Peace of Mind" in early 1990.
Their sound was a combination of light jazz with some pop and soul, somewhat reminiscent of Air Supply or Rick Astley. However, the success was shortlived, and by 1990 they had disbanded.

breathe is Doug DuVall and Noel "NTRAIN" Keith. They are a forward thinking eletronic music production/DJ team who shares the common interest in producing, playing, and listening to quality music that must have a groove, soul, and depth. They won't pigeon hole themselves in one genre or style of music and have produced some of the following styles but not limited to: house, deep house, funky house, progressive house, breaks, hip-hop, abstract, experimental, and downtempo. How Can I Fall

The moment's here for us to share
Still my heart is not always there
What more can I say to you?
Could I lie to you?
I'm just too weak to face the truth
Now I know, I should make a move
How can I fall? How can I fall?
When you just won't give me reasons
When you just won't give me reasons at all
When all faith is gone
I fight myself to carry on
Yet I know of the harm I do
What more can I say to you?
Now I hold this line
I know the choice to leave is mine
I can't help what I feel inside
What more can I say?
How can I fall? How can I fall? (How can I fall?)
When you just won't give me reasons
When you just won't give me reasons at all
I'll follow through, I'll say I do
When the time is far more right for you
I'll make that move and when I do
Will I doubt again the way I do?
How can I fall? How can I fall? (How can I fall?)
When you just won't give me reasons
When you just won't give me reasons at all
How can I fall? How can I fall? (How can I fall?)
When you just won't give me reasons
When you just won't give me reasons
How can I fall? How can I fall? (How can I fall?)
When you just won't give me reasons
When you just won't give me reasons
Just won't give me reasons
Just won't give me reasons at all
How can I fall? I fall, I fall
How can I fall for you?
How can I fall? How can I fall? (How can I fall?)
When you just won't give me reasons
When you just won't give me reasons
The lyrics to "How Can I Fall" by Breathe depict a conflicted protagonist grappling with a failing relationship. The opening lines, "Give me time to care, The moment's here for us to share," suggest that the singer is aware of the emotional distance in the relationship and hopeful that with some patience, they can reignite the spark. However, the subsequent lines, "Still my heart is not always there, What more can I say to you?" reveal the singer's internal struggle with fidelity and lack of emotional investment.
The lyrics then shift to the singer's frustration with their partner's lack of communication and transparency, "When you just won't give me reasons, When all faith is gone, I fight myself to carry on." They acknowledge the harm they are causing but feel stuck in the situation, "Yet I know of the harm I do, Now I hold this line, I know the choice to leave is mine, I can't help what I feel inside."
The chorus repeats the question, "How can I fall?" as the singer continues to grapple with their feelings and the lack of effort from their partner, "When you just won't give me reasons at all." The song ends with the singer expressing their commitment to the relationship, despite lingering doubts and uncertainties.
Overall, "How Can I Fall" offers a poignant portrayal of the complexities of relationships and the challenges of staying invested and committed when faced with adversity.
