Drone II
Breathe In Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

i can see it in your eyes
you think you see it on my face
maybe it's something in my walk
maybe it's something with this place
you tell a friend he tells his friend
misconceptions all along
you couldn't know you wouldn't know
why the fuck would i tell you?

build it up and tear it down
running your mouth just to have a say
there's not a clue in your head
yet you still talk anyway
you don't even know my name
you don't even know my name
you don't even know my fucking name

you think you know me you try to judge me
but your facts are hit and miss
if you know all there is to know
than how do you explain this

you think you know me
you think you know me
you think you know me
you think you know me
you think you know me
you think you know me

fuck you

i can see it in your eyes
not an ounce of self respect
knocking others down
to make up for what you fucking lack
i see you talking
not hearing a fucking word you say
when you realize you've got no friends
you're the only one to blame

life's so clear when you think you're seeing through mine
who are you to think you can fucking define

this painted picture of perfect fucking design?
master artist you fucking can't draw a fucking straight line.

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Breathe In's song Drone II seem to convey the frustration and anger of the singer towards a person who is judgmental and belittling towards them without any real reason. The first verse opens with the singer acknowledging the scrutiny of the other person who thinks they can read their thoughts and feelings. But the singer brushes it off, wondering if it is the atmosphere or their gait that is giving them away. Then the lyrics move on to the second verse, where the singer intensifies their frustration as the person goes on to spread rumors and false accusations about them. The singer tries to imply that there is no way the person could know anything about them or their situation, making the accusation baseless and unjustifiable.

In the chorus, the singer scorns the other person for trying to judge them without seeing the full picture. The singer asserts that the person's knowledge of them and their life is not encompassing, making their opinions irrelevant. The final verse is a direct hit towards the person as the singer tries to expose the flaws of the other person's character. The singer highlights the other person's lack of self-respect, projecting their own insecurity onto others. The singer sees the person's actions as nothing but a feeble attempt to fill the void of their own shortcomings.
