Do I Love You
Brenda Holloway Lyrics

Your kiss, your kiss, your kiss
Means more to me than anything I've ever known before
Your love, your love, your love
Is the only love I've ever known that keeps me wanting so much more
I thought there was nothing I had missed
& I thought I knew the meaning of a lover's kiss
You've turned me inside out
You've taught me what love was about
& that's why I'll always love you
Your touch, your touch, your touch
Is that velvet touch that thrills me so
How much you'll never know
When we're alone, when we're alone, when we're alone
Sometimes things that are wrong seem oh so right
Darling, please hold me tight
You've turned me inside out
You've taught me what love was about
& for this I'll always love you

One of Motown‘s best and most underrated female singers. Wonderful voice.💛

The word was that she wouldn't give Berry Gordy sex, so she was sent back to Cali and her songs were not promoted. I am 71 years old. Music was a small industry. Everybody knew what was going on behind the scenes.

Talk about someone being "robbed", one of the most under rated singers from Motown..for me, she was always a "diamond in the rough" for Motown..love her music.

Damn, her voice is like getting the energy of laying in the sun on a warm, summery day -- full of mellowness and electricity. What a talented artist.

One of my favorite Motown recordings ever. Beautiful voice. great song by Smokey, unbelievable instrumental backup

True. Her only fault was she wouldn't date Berry Gordy. So, Berry sent her back to California and refused to promote her songs.

Brenda Holloway's always been one of my favorite singers, but until I saw this video I never realized how drop dead gorgeous she was. There are times during this clip where she almost favors (and don't laugh) Rita Hayworth in "Gilda," singing "Put the Blame on Mame." Just a fabulous song by one of Tamla's finest.

Rasheen Young

one of motown gems that didnt get the recognition she deserved

Patricia Cherry

And thats because she got out of there.

@Stephen Kennedy very true. It also has to do with decisions the artists made themselves regarding their careers. Brenda decided against moving to Detroit. This didn't help her.
