Years after being in IME, Brian released his own solo album called Tuesdays, Thursdays, and If It Rains, released on April 11th, 2006. Although an adult contemporary and folk rock album, there are also southern (Days Go On) and blues rock (Nova Dashboard, Paper Girl) influences. Many other tracks are beautiful pop rock ballads (Jen's Song, Century Old), sung through the strong emotion of Brian's voice.

The only light to live by is the one from your face
And it won't stop yet
I'm a wanderer and I've found a place in you
Tide turns and I swim for her
This is what happens when tired souls believe
Tide turns and I swim for herThis is what happened when this tired soul believed
I was crawling
And burned out
Hope she doesn't
Have to break this habit
But I'm drowning
In her sea
Hope she doesn't
Have to break this habit
You keep going through the dirt
Because digging out a new life will always go slow
And it wears me down
Even when you're sleeping, you're hard to figure out
Tide turns and I swim for her
This is what happens when tired souls believe
Tide turns and I swim for her
This is what happened when this tired soul believed
I was crawling
And burned out
Hope she doesn't
Have to break this habit
But I'm drowning
Hope she doesn't
Have to break this habit
All
All my life
All my life
I'll be by your side
All
All my life
All my life
I'll be by your side
I was crawling
And burned out
And I know I
Have to break this habit
The song “Jen's Song” by Brian Byrne is a mesmerizing and emotional ode to a woman who has captured the singer’s heart. It is a personal, confessional, and vulnerable piece that explores the depth of the singer’s feelings for his beloved. The opening lines “I'm in a cold, cold sweat, The only light to live by is the one from your face” expresses the apprehensive state of being in love that leaves one feeling vulnerable and exposed. The song has a dreamy quality to it that remains persistent throughout the track.
The chorus of the song “Tide turns and I swim for her, This is what happens when tired souls believe” suggests that the singer has found new hope and motivation in his lover, who has inspired him to move forward despite the struggles in life. There is a sense of urgency in the lyrics, a feeling that the singer is running out of time and he hopes that his lover won't leave him. The lines "But I'm drowning in her sea, Hope she doesn't have to break this habit" signifies that the singer is completely immersed in the lover's life and fears the consequences if she isn't there for him. The chorus repeats itself, reinforcing the idea that the singer is committed to his lover and will be by her side, always.
