Years after being in IME, Brian released his own solo album called Tuesdays, Thursdays, and If It Rains, released on April 11th, 2006. Although an adult contemporary and folk rock album, there are also southern (Days Go On) and blues rock (Nova Dashboard, Paper Girl) influences. Many other tracks are beautiful pop rock ballads (Jen's Song, Century Old), sung through the strong emotion of Brian's voice.

Inspector chief
Nova dashboard
Playtime relief
So roll down the window
Tell the same story again
For as long as I've known youYou've been a friend
Slow it goes
To teach the things you know
Long
As long as it's been
We're fitting in
Right where we left off
You
Without you as my friend
You would have lost
All you've invested
December sickness
How's it been?
Two homes, a great distance
I'll see you again
Slow it goes
To teach the things you know
Love surrounds me
Watch and let me grow
Long
As long as it's been
Right where we left off
You
Without you as my friend
You would have lost
All you've invested
I hope what they say is true
That I'm turning into you
I'm turning into you
I hope what they say is true
That I'm turning into you
I'm turning into you
Long
As long as it's been
We're fitting in
Right where we left off
The lyrics of Brian Byrne’s song “Nova Dashboard” talk about friendship and the importance of having a loyal companion in one’s life. The song starts by mentioning Johnny Jarvis and refers to him as an Inspector Chief. Nova Dashboard can be interpreted as a symbol of ease and comfort amidst struggles. The phrase “playtime relief” could be indicative of the song’s protagonist using the dashboard as a means of escaping the harsh realities of life.
The song then goes on to highlight the longevity of the friendship between the singer and Johnny Jarvis. The lyrics suggest that the friendship has stood the test of time and that the two friends always pick up right where they left off. The singer credits the longevity of their relationship to the fact that Johnny Jarvis has taught him a lot about life, and that the two have grown together.
In the chorus of the song, the singer expresses his desire to become more like Johnny Jarvis. The lyrics echo the sentiment that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. The phrase “I hope what they say is true” is perhaps a reference to statements made by mutual acquaintances that the singer is turning into Johnny Jarvis.
