That drummer was AWESOME! I'm learning that his name was Dave Munden, right? Kick ass drummer! Beautiful set, big drums, fun, articulate, busy playing (on the fills) and overall spot-on playing! I have never heard of Brian Poole and the Tremelos (or Tremoloes) until today. I read about them in the John Bonham biography called "Beast". Now I'm like, Wow! I mean, the group is kind of just OK, in terms of songwriting but that drummer had the moves!

Brian Poole and the Tremeloes are most famous for being the band preferred by Decca records over the Beatles.

They got signed after Decca rejected the Beatles for a record contract.

Kind of certainly in the USA many assume they were a flop, in the UK they were very popular Thier version of twist and shout made no.1 in 1963, and they had many other top 10 hits as well, after Brian left the tremeloes went onto to have a few big hits in their own right, so made Decca a lot of money.
Decca was at the time a huge record company with most of the UK's top recording artist's..
So they were hugely successful in Thier own right in the UK, but not in the USA

Amazing how the Trems made a comeback in flower power years with a batch of great hits. Now all the 60s 70s stars are getting very old & dying. I don't like seeing them old & crinkley & best watch the heyday years. Includes me too. Getting old sucks.

Tbh I think they made a good decision not knocking the Beatles in any way,but for me they werent the be all and end all,sure they may have paved the way for many others but Brian and the Trems esp were around in the same early years and whereas The Beatles sort of stepped back The Trems stepped up and for me released some equally memorable records that well stand the test of time.
